Acid Kirk appreciation
by Guest Panthroid- 0 replies

I figured one of Belgium's finest at least deserves his own thread. I still greatly enjoy his Childhood Memories record (the B-side is one of the strangest and most magical works of acid I've ever heard) (http://boomkat.com/downloads/27224-acid-kirk-childhood-memories) and he still DJs quite a lot. Saw him in Belgium alongside Venetian Snares last year, and he was easily the musical highlight of the evening. He's got a very impressive back-catalogue under different pseudonyms; stuff ranging from techno (Encephaloïd Disturbance) to noise/drone (Syncopated Elevators Legacy). http://www.discogs.com/artist/Cédric+Stevens I believe I read on his facebook or some…

cLOUDDEAD - cLOUDDEAD is one of the greatest albums of all time. seriously, if you don't have this album, it should be your next purchase. it's such a cohesive collection of tracks. amazing flow, no misses. sounds like nothing else. you can listen to it a hundred times and always find something new to appreciate. We should do that. He's got so many albums to discuss. Maybe an album or two per week?

Venetian Snares dream
by Guest Abuse- 1 reply
To celebrate our new subforum I'll tell you about the dream I had last night. There was this new film called "My Dreams Without You" circulating the film festivals and to my surprise my co-worker, a 60 yr old female librarian who likes Almodovar and Fassbinder, told me she had seen it not once but twice and it had been the most intense and spectacular film experience ever. I had never heard of such film and looked it up on the interweb, everyone else was raving about it too. Apparently it was a horror film but with some next level shit too. Oh yeah, and it was directed by Aaron Funk.

No point in making a big ass poll. (For some reason I have permission to, someone should probably fix that). Anyways I'm torn between Chocolate Wheelchair and Rossz Csillag Alatt Született. Good in different ways. Edit: Now there's a suggestion thread.

Sorry if this is a bit spammish, but this has been doin' my noggin in. Can someone ID this bad boy? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2-WoytZlxw I'm sure it's Radiophonic Workshop, Wendy Carlos or some other weirdo early/60s/70s synth stuff, but I can't place it. Any help appreciated. Cheers chaps! Edit: Sorry, should've said, video is title sequence for a horror film and a bit NSFW-ish.

I enjoy this track alot, but I assume the rest of his stuff isn't in this style. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxqvX6niXoM All knowing Wuterm, do you enjoy this artist?

Deleting songs from albums that you don't like 1 2 3 4
by Guest wake- 94 replies
- 5.2k views
Some albums have songs on them that are atrocious, but I'm a perfectionist about my music library and so I just end up skipping songs all the time. I'm wondering if other people have the balls to just edit albums on their computers to their liking. Logically, it makes sense, but for some reason I just can't do it.

Recommend some free jazz or 20th century orchestral music 1 2
by Guest esstevancarlos- 39 replies

I feel like listening to some instrumental music more aligned with experimental techniques. I know the usual suspects in orchestral-ish/electronic music (cage, stock, xen, budd, partch, boulez, etc). Any other recommendations?
