Great new EP from this duo. Their 'Aeonflower' album back in March is safely in my top ten of the year. Paper Dollhouse makes a surprise return with the thirty minute long Plutonic Rainbows EP, the first new material on the newly minted MoonDome imprint, a new label set up for regular, limited editions from Paper Dollhouse and related artists. Following on from this year’s previously Bleep album of the week Aeonflower, they have compiled this six track EP that sits perfectly in between Aeonflower’s dark side mechanics and the late night ambience of previous album A Box Painted Black. Plutonic Rainbows blends influence from the New Age dawns of fellow Finders Keepe…

For fans of Arca, Perc & extreme audio sculpturing in general. Out now on Type Recordings. Features Justin K. Broadrick of Godflesh fame. "Nino Pedone – aka Shapednoise – has accumulated an enviable discography during his relatively short career. Previous releases on Hospital Productions, Opal Tapes, Stroboscopic Artefacts, his own Repitch and Cosmo Rhythmatic imprints, and now Type Recordings have cemented his reputation as a stalwart of the noise techno genre. His second album seeks to extend his self-erected boundaries, and Different Selves is certainly his most abstract and punishing work to date. The sound design of Different Selves is undeniably …

"Berlin-based sound artist Yair Elazar Glotman returns to Subtext with the powerful electro-acoustic scapes of 'Études' a year on from his 'Nimbes' soundtrack with James Ginzburg and his pair of Ketev tape works for Where To Now? and Opal Tapes. This, his 2nd album proper, involves ten studies for contrabass, using newly-honed, counter-intuitive technique to, in a sense, bybass his classical training and draw out an "unnatural" range of secreted resonance and physically affective vibrations. By probing his instrument's acoustic dynamic range with close micing and post-production, he really animate the instrument's subconscious thoughts with revelatory detail." http…

I really enjoyed Vol 1 - but did think I would probably prefer a more electronic sounding Kid 606 ambient album and now he has made one! :) https://kid606.bandcamp.com/album/recollected-ambient-works-vol-2-escape-to-los-angeles-2015

Figured we should make an official thread for the new release: Not out yet of course, but the album's been available to stream all week. I dig it a lot, it's ever so slightly faster paced than a lot of previous Sunn O))) releases, making the riffs sound a little more distinctive. Also to re-state what I said in the general thread, there seems to be something different about the production this time, it's like you can really hear how loud the levels were when it was recorded. Everyone knows they played and recorded at loud volumes but this time it seems more apparent. Perhaps they used more room mics? What do you guys think?
