Even though there is no home for Bastien on Rephlex anymore (Machinations was officially the last actual Rephlex release) he still continues to make and release music (thankfully). His latest album is just out this month, samples sound just as good as always :) Lush artwork too: http://www.juno.co.uk/products/pierre-bastien-blue-as-an-orange/590413-01/ http://www.rushhour.nl/distribution_detailed.php?item=86269 https://www.normanrecords.com/records/156056-pierre-bastien-blue-as-an-orange-

Cheers guys. I am releasing a compilation of 10 tracks by 10 artists on my new label Unit Shifter which will be out on February 18th on 12" vinyl and digital. It's a good mix of IDM, experimental, braindance, ambient stuff etc. Been working a long time on getting this album together so I am happy we have come this far. I will post some full tracks later but here's a minimix of the album for now: https://soundcloud.com/unitshifter/unit-shifter-compilation-one-album-snippet

While there is no actual writeup for this album, it received one very fun review recently: "Moody blue and dreamy ambient IDM return from Finland’s Lackluster" -Boomkat “You can define this EP as the soundtrack to a funeral, in a world where death does not have to be something sad.” "Se puede definir este EP como la banda sonora de un funeral, en un mundo donde la muerte no tiene por que ser algo triste." -Buenos Aliens http://lackluster.bandcamp.com/album/moments

I stumbled across this album by Aisha Devi the other day, and am blown away. One of the most interesting things I've heard in a long time, and I thought you guys might appreciate it. Think a more abstract version of The Knife and you're on the right track. Here's a video for one of the songs to give you a taste, but I'd heartily recommend tracking down the full album

https://soundcloud.com/mystic-quantum-records/vhs-glitch-land-with-no-future-mq008 preorders mysticandquantum@gmail.com ---------------------------------------- After the last battle with Neotech, VHS Glitch was victorious but for a few survivors. Some of these survivors, bent on world domination, have begun a series of attacks on the 'Forgotten Land,' a haven sheltering the last bastion of humanity still free from the influence of Evil Technology. If they can't be controlled, they must be destroyed or it will be the end of Neotech's plans. Our hero must now save these people before Neotech wipes them from the face of the earth. It will not be easy, but VHS Glitc…

took a few listens to get the atmosphere of it, now i'm really happy about it. the most "band album" album out of puscifer's stuff, if that makes sense. like the other stuff had more disparate approaches. this one is basically all keenan, mitchell and round. not show-offy with the musicality, don't look for that, though there is lush production and well made songs. i like the lyrics, of course these kinds of lyrics are a matter of personal preference so i dont expect everyone to like them, but i've always had an appreciation for keenan's sensibility so i think its great. its a cohesive, genuine album.

[youtubehd]PNbqu-xGa-o[/youtubehd] Nearly posted this in the Jono McCleery thread which has kind of morphed into a RWJ thread but this deserves it's own place. Recently he hooked up with the 37 Adventures label and put out this 12" and digiital Rover EP His album Ashen Tang is nearly finished and will be all over the albums of the year 2015 lists RWJ is a very very lovely chap. You should listen to him and buy his records and stuff.

New album from Italian producer out on the 27th. Just pre-ordered it, sounds like the usual unusual Planet Mu electronickery. Anyone else partaking? There's a good track on the Mu comp for those who have it. http://www.planet.mu/discography/ZIQ372

John F has uploaded a bunch of unreleased stuff to Bandcamp, all for free / nyop download. The 'Renoise Tracks 2009-2011' collection has some pretty good stuff on it, mixture of breaksy IDM and his usual melancholy melodies. 4-Track Guitar Music is a bunch of lo-fi instrumentals recorded to 4-track (obviously), some nice beatwork on them, almost like his '90s stuff with a 707. Medre is pretty crazy acid stuff plus guitar. Sect in Sgt is an utterly nuts 21 minute soundscape, everything from super-fast drill breaks to acid rock samples, not sure I've ever heard anything quite like it. I'm hoping eventually he'll be accepted as a proper IDM musician rather than "that…
