The latest release from PSGirl is now available showcasing ten new tracks ranging from dark, haunting electronic excursions to beautiful, melodic electro-infused compositions. The album was inspired by science fiction, physics, retro videogames and cyberpunk concepts. This release also features original artwork by Mariela Baez, winner in the recent PSGirl CD artwork contest. Notes On Dystopia is available as a physical CD or digital download. Attaching memories to songs
by Guest Fishtank- 13 replies

There's songs from the 80s that bring back very specific memories for me, so when we decided to take a nice family vacation to FL I had a great idea for a soundtrack to listen to while wasting my time away on the warm sands. I would play certain songs while doing specific things like whenever I would sit on the back porch of our hotel and watch the sun go down I would play Skidoos by Akufen. Now everytime I hear that song I remember the warm breeze, the Luminiscent orange surrounding the clouds and the swarms of dragonflies that flew by one evening.

So i recently got a PM from a member reccomending to me Dissection's Storm of the Lights Bane. I feel that i need to post about how fundamentally awesome this album is, start to finish. Not enough metal chat here, but if you like metal, in particular black and death metal, then get your fucking hands on this album. Fucking perfection. oh and i should mention that though i really appreciated the reccomendation, i had been enjoying the album before i received his note. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vj8jLyb8x0w

Some songs/melodies/compositions have the ability to just shut off whatever concerns you, or just making a day off even more relaxed. Timelessness is often occuring when listening to these tunes under the right circumstances. Came to think of this just now when I was humming on the main melody of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-Xm7s9eGxU which is probably one of the most soothing combinations of sound that I know of. Obviously because it's on the test screen of swedish national television at night, and was also on during early summer mornings when I was younger. No melancholy here, it just calms me down totally. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5dcEXpViiI is also one …

I was listening to The Mole's last release (Dreamer Keep On Dreaming) and I was amazed how the first track makes a perfect loop when the replay is on. I could listen endlessly the whole thing, so fucking hipnotic. What are your fav tracks with that effect?

Far superior to Parliament in my opinion, although by the end of their career (I'm thinking late 70's onward) they sounded pretty similar. They just had such ferocious playing... the humour, the commentary... brilliant stuff For starters, I'd check out Maggot Brain, the title track opener has one of the most scorching extended guitar solos I've ever heard (George Clinton instructed Eddie Hazel to "play like yo mamma died") ...not to mention the opening monologue is classic: "Mother Earth is pregnant for the 3rd time, for y'all have knocked her up. I have taasted the maggots in the mind of the universe... I was not offended, for I knew I had to rise above …
