Record Shops in NYC

I'm heading to NYC this weekend for the cvj/signaldrift show and was hoping to hit up some record shops during the day that have decent electronic music selections. format doesn't matter too much, i like it all. i'm staying in manhatten, but will have my car. any recommendations? suggestions for bars with good beer (like Spuyten Duyvil) and art galleries (like Cinders) would be appreciated as well. thanks

I just find it funny, it not being mentioned yet that David Slade, the guy that directed (and possibly created) the Rhubears is the same guy now directing The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, lol. Hears to moving up in the world. Cash in man cash in, I'd do it too. ! http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1720541/

Here is a really fun game to play next time your stoned/just plain bored and listening to music. Try and guess what specific drugs the artist was on while creating the piece of music you're listening to. For example, Come On You Slags! is clearly the effect of Richard experimenting with Viagra. Yellow Calx he was probably doing cocaine along with some marijuana for that dab of softness. The whole of Confield was likely the product of some kind of wild antihistamine bender. I suspect BoC of smoking old photographs. Next time won't you sing with me, WATMM??

i like cowgirl by underworld because it's title is a triple entendre; i forgot to mention it in Fred's thread cowgirl the sex position, a girl that is a cow (like a hindu goddess maybe), and a cowboy's companion start as you mean to go on always evokes perfect sex to me; would love to dose up & fuck to that tune

is anybody else completely uninterested in this broken beat thing, with beats tripping over themselves trying to be hip and dropping out of time. it really just sounds like a fucking mess to me. i can't even feel the funk. i'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong w/ my timing. it's just that this stuff is ass, no? did it come w/ dubstep or something? i can see it being dated in years to come like "why were we doing this?"

Ninja Tune just announced that there will be a new Wagon Christ track on it's Ninja Tune XX comp, as well as a new full album being released "very soon". Looks like Luke finally pleased the tosspots holding the album back for years (i.e. it's finally "Ninja" enough for them). Here's hoping for a late Fall release. so i have been reliving some fatboy slim cause he's one of the acts that got me into electronic music and i noticed he always djs with one-sided headphones, even today. curious, i look that type of headphone up on the internet and i find that they were used sometimes in recording so singers would remain in pitch, hearing the headphones/ hearing the speaker , at the same time i guess,, i think i might benfit from one-siders becuase i dj only in my appartment and probably will only dj in mine or other apartments does that make since? should i try this? i have only found one model like this and they are stanton headphones: http://pro-audio.musicia…
