I recently picked up a turntable on craigslist, a Technics SL-D3. The guy included 4 cartridges, 2 have needles and 2 do not. So one of my main questions is whether it's worth getting needles for the needleless carts, if they're better than the others. Also, I realize the obvious answer would be 'Try them out!' but this isn't a possibility at the moment, receiver and speakers are elsewhere and I won't have them till the end of summer. AND I wouldn't want to damage my vinyls with questionable needles, which leads to my first general question: How much does wear on the needles matter to performance, is it worth getting a new needle for any/all of these cartridges? …

There are so many takes on this classic.. my current favorite is this one, the old school Disney animation is great too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mQHr8bAojU The version in the film Brazil is excellent. I'm not so big on Frank Sinatra's though, it's a little too zazzy. But I love the Cornelius version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4D_1ochyus Is anyone else extremely obsessed with this song?

I'm a pretty big Burial fanboy, and I just came across this news: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/music_blog/2010/03/digging-burial-kode9-reveals-brandnew-burial-at-brainfeeder-sessions.html#more What are the odds someone has audio from this set, or even heard it?

Does anybody have any information about this guy or this song? I'd like to acquire it if it's been released, but I doubt it has. I remember looking at the artist's myspace a while back, but it seems to be gone now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tT-wppegHiM

So this artist-guy got into contact with me through Youtube awhile ago. He sends me all of his songs, and from what I can tell through my SUPER SLEUTHING he's from Ireland. I don't really know what else to say or how to not put a label on his stuff, so listen to it and have an opinion. This is his channel: Alice's channel. This is his Facebook fanpage: Alice's Facebook. This is his Myspace: Alice's Myspace. Just thought I might help promote him or something or see what you guys think of him. I felt it interesting that he messaged me and asked me to put some of his tracks up on Youtube. Songs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYHqRw3-TzI http://www.y…

....they don't have the right contacts or know the right people? Is it a fact that you need to have some kind of blagg or gimic to sell your shit or at least be in the right circles to get your shit out there and be noticed? Are things easier these days with the internet or much harder due to saturation? It also helps to be in the right place at the right time but could there be amazing innovative talented artists out there, lurking about undiscovered forever just because they don't know how to promote or sell what they create?

Not sure where to start with Roedelius' solo efforts. What should be my next step?

Sorry, I accidently pressed enter before I was ready. I really like Ligeti's choral work. Things like his "Lux Aeterna" and "Requiem" just haunt me. I'd like some recommendations for other mind-blowing micropolyphonic droning pieces. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnuAaKiX1sg I have to post this too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71hNl_skTZQ just because it is amazing.

I've been lusting after the illusive "Appendice", but I have two of the three tracks on this so I can't justify tracking this down and ordering it (except maybe for the lovely artwork).
