Joe Satriani - Engines of Creation 8.5/10 (some average, plenty good, nothing actually bad)

Marumari - Supermogadon 9/10 (love it, though the "vocals" sometimes bring it down a little)

Heterotic - Rain (ft. Vezelay) 7.5/10 (because 3 out of 4 tracks are nice listening, not liking Vezelay unfortunately)

μ-ziq - Duntisbourne Abbots Soulmate Devestation Technique 4/10 (I just can't get into it, but I do love the title. MAYBE it'll grow on me...?)

Inga Copeland - Because I'm Worth It

1 half of Hype Williams, this EP sounds like Laurel Halo, Actress makes an appearance

I listened to this record recently and really liked it. I was surprised because I really didn't like any of the Hype Williams stuff. Fit 1 and L'oreal are some real tunes.

Weird ass album, needs more time to sink in.. still i like the funny little women whispering in my ears.

Okay time for a proper lay out run down back it up album suplex sessions 2014
ended up being more than just 'a few'..

Monolake - Cinemascope 8/10 great album but kind of over techno at the moment.
Vildhjarta - Måsstaden 7/10 super fine technical metal deathy vibe what ever you want to call it album, don't need to be in a certain mood for it either which is unusual with me and metal.
Philip Glass - Rework: Philip Glass remixed 6/10 some interesting remixes on here but mostly didn't hold my attention, i'll get back to it soon.
Andy Stott - Luxury Problems 9/10 heard it the night of seeing him in concert, sexiest album I've ever heard.

Richard Devine - Aleamapper 7.5/10 weird sound art stuff mostly, i'll give it another go soon.
Markus Guentner - In Moll 9/10 this album is amazing though it almost slips into new agey ambient shite at times but not enough for it to be a turn off.

Cheshyre - Autolysis (8/10) Solid album when you're in the mood for it.

Eliot Lipp - Shark Wolf Rabbit Snake (7.5/10) It's not all worth listening to but there are some very special tracks that shine (e.g. The Snake, oh baby!)

Self Taught - 5-Year Journey (7.0/10) It's up and down, but I like Self-Taught when they get all soulful and bluesy, that's what does it for me. (The Low Low, Diamond Gold Sneakers).

Amorphous Androgynous - The Cartel Vol. 1 (9.5/10) It's like the soundtrack to a 70's crime thriller film, and I'm very sad that the movie for which it was composed doesn't actually exist.

Plaid - Double Figure (8.5/10): Why haven't I been listening to them all these years?

Burzum - Filosofem (4/10): I am warming to grotty old school Black Metal, but this is wack juice.

Blut Aus Nord - Ultima Thulee (8/10): Still trying to wrap my head around 777, but this is excellent and accessible.

EOMAC - Spectre (8/10)

Plastikman - Ex (7.5/10): I think some have been unduly harsh about this record, really immersive for me.

WIFE - What's Between (8/10): Almost makes up for the end of AoP. I wouldn't have thought there was much mileage left in this sound.

Krallice - Krallice (5/10)

Krallice - Years Past Matter (8/10): Dense, disorienting, a bit wanky.

Auroch - Taman Shud (7/10) - Feels a bit slight, but I look forward to hearing more of them.

u-Ziq - Duntisborne Abbots Soulmate Devastation Technique (8.5/10): Enjoying this a lot more than I recalled. Not Mike P's best work, but quite good.

Woods of Desolation - Torn Beyond Reason (7.5/10): Not the most distinguished band doing lush BM, but it ticks all the boxes.

Dalhous - Will to Be Well (7/10): I expect the rating to rise with more listens, but their influences are a little too near the surface for me.

Company Flow - Little Johnny From the Hospitul - 9/10 - Holy shit. I always knew of CF for Funcrusher+ (a classic), but just stumbled upon this demented, grimey, fucked to hell instrumental album too (released after they disbanded apparently???) and my god if it isn't near perfect.

Fennesz - Becs - 8/10 - Best I've heard from Fennesz in a long long time. Gorgeous record.

Dabrye - Additional Prod., Vol. 1 - 8/10 - Assortment of b-sides and remixes from TM, released awhile back but just listening for the first time. Dabrye never fails to disappoint. Really dope little compilation.

Plaid - Reachy Prints: One of the better releases I might even say, album flows really well without anything seeming like filler

Patten - Estoille Naiant: sounds pretty lush while being properly glitchy, proper IDM

Demdike Stare - Testpressing 006: I fucking love everything Miles Whitaker is involved in and this is no exception

Wolves In The Throne Room - Celestite: Black Metal group going ambient eh? They had kinda been drifting towards this experimentation for a while now, for what it is it's pretty good

Wife - What's Between: Hmm quite a step in a different direction from Altar of Plagues, but pretty damn cool nonetheless, I can dig it

Cold Cave - Full Cold Moon: Pretty sweet darkwave revival group that kicks out some really decent goth-rock with an 80s retro vibe

Pallbearer - Foundations of Burden: Amazingly good doom metal band, a worthy follow up to their first LP

Tinariwen - Emmar: Group from Mali that play what you could call "desert blues", I can't understand a single thing the songs are about, but they are pretty groovy, hell they're more bluesy than the Black Keys these days

Guest Sequoioideae

Franz Kirmann "Meridians" - a little underwhelmed, I loved the first track, but it got a bit boring and I lost interest towards the end and pumped it through my stereo system when I went to bed. Will give it a few more listens as I feel like something is there to be picked up. Mmmm, right now 6/10

Caustic Window s/t - I loved "Flutey" and "Stomper", I first listened to it high as fuck over a friends and I thought I really loved it. I was part of the fundraiser, so it might have been the record wasn't up to the expectations I had, and looking back I can see why it was unreleased. 5/10

Boards of Canada "Geogaddi" - I love this album a lot, and I didn't become a BoC fan until a year ago when I was lying in bed for a month after I had surgery. It just all clicked, and I've been listening to way too much Boards since then. 10/10

Cult of Youth s/t - I saw these guys open for DI6 awhile ago, they were undeniably better than the Dave and his percussion associate. Think shouting pub vocals mixed with industrial, gutter punk, and neofolk. A real treat 8/10.

Bibio "Silver Wlkinson" - I'm flat out in love with this album. I really didn't care for "Mind Bokeh", but jeeesusss, for some reason I can't explain I feel like this is one of his best releases. Maybe it's the evolution of his production mixed with that hazy, lo-fi aesthetic he had up until "Vignetting The Compost"? I just feel like his melodies are so wonderful, and I've been finding myself humming to "Dye The Water Green" at work when I space out. 10/10

Flying Saucer Attack "Mirror" - The last of FSA's releases before the dude fell off the face of the earth. It's a bit of a polarizing album within the community for some reason though with sampled drums and dancey numbers mixed with hushed vocals and droning guitars. I really like some of the fingerpicked acoustic songs in here, they add a bit of intimacy in to the album.

I've been on an IDM, and lo-fi kick as of late. Don't know why though. :derp:

steinvord ep 10/10

I've seen this talked about enough times to warrant a listen, and I need more Rephlex artists in my life. I think it might have been you that mentioned Steinvord all over the board and in the chat, but I guess that has paid off, huh?

Julien Neto - Le Fumeur de Ciel

10/10

been listening heavily since 2011...

you must give this one some time

This is incredible, thank you.

Right now I'm really into "Symbiotics" by Porter Ricks and Techno Animal as well as the latter's "Brotherhood of the Bomb". Great grimey jams.
