Cottage > Cheetah

Yeah, overall I like the Cottages maybe slightly more. Yet nothing wrong with Cheetahs. I actually like it how this EP continues the SYROian Aphex period. Somehow feels like a natural progrenssion or something.

gonna suck so hard on digital cd's

Oh, they are totally different tracks from the other formats or what? Cool. BTW you already said that very same thing in the new release sub. Point taken

Pre-ordered the plastic. I'm a thug.

I love cassettes! just holding in yo hand is the best. I've been buying/collecting for years and have a killer tape deck to hear em on. don't shit on em

Me too! 100+ newer ones (wish I had more $ to buy them regularly, so many good labels out there) and thrift store scores of old tapes, demos, blanks, etc. Got a Nakamichi 2-head that sounds like butter, used to have a JVC 3 head deck too, a TD-V541 but I sold it.

Actually need to go through those and sell, digitize, and sort them. Hoarding them in boxes after I moved, used to have them displayed. You should check out tabs out and norelco mori for recommendations, two great cassette podcasts. Lot of great review sites like cassettegods, guidemelittletape, and others.

Sorry, I've been in a cave. Is magnetic tape the new polyvinyl chloride? Not so good at keeping abreast of these trends.

Yes and no. Theres a fad popular resurgence lately but those podcasts and blogs focus on scenes, labels, and artists that are underground. Cassettes never went away from the noise and diy experimental scenes.

Why is there never any previews for Aphex on bleep?!

There have been on Amazon

Yeah and were quickly removed. What's the problem with Aphex Twin samples being on there?! For example, they never do that with Autechre.

I'm not sure tbh. I feel like Aphex maybe stipulates less promotion than his contemporaries. Wasn't the green blimp pretty much the only advert for Syro?

Compared to the RSD tomorrow's harvest thing for BoC + desert listening, etc.

Or maybe Aphex is like a protected commodity and they don't allow their distributors/vendors to release samples, tighter leash kind of deal?

ack, I'm not sure.
