"Dear Jim, can you use Paint to show us a scene from a not too distant future in which those fucking Minion things have finally taken over completely?"

You know, back when they were just those funny yellow things from the Despicable Me movies they were kinda amusing, and I even liked them. But good god they're fucking everywhere now. The popularity level really is getting a bit absurd.

It makes me wonder, why the fuck are Pixar films pushed down our throats so much in the last couple years?!... I mean first it was Frozen, and now this. I never saw Frozen (and tbh I really don't want to) but it can't have been THAT good to deserve all the pop culture overexposure it got. and like I mentioned, I even didn't mind the little minions at first, but this level of marketing and putting them into everything under the sun, it's just absurd and kinda offputting. I even like PIxar films, most of them are pretty great, but this level of forced marketing is kinda disgusting.

frozen was partly a big hit because it literally came out during the blizzards that year, so a lot of families bonded over the experience of watching it because it was too cold outside for real...from kid's perspective i'm sure that was very fun to feel like you were part of the movie

i finally watched it, it was ok, and the main song is very, very MOR...I joke sang it once not knowing the actual tune, just kinda singing let it go "LET IT GOooHHHH" sarcastically like I assumed Idina Menzel would and I actually was quite close to guessing the real melody. we just had a kid and i don't think it will make the movie rounds at home anytime soon...it's after a long list of other Pixar films, Miyazaki films, classic disney movies, etc.

other non-Pixar studios are putting good stuff out, Laika's movies Coraline and Paranorman were really good and reminded me of classic Burton movies

anyway, despicable me was cute (i like steve carrell a lot) but it and cars are all kind mediocre...cars especially seemed like Pixar tailored for white trash kids lol, sorry that's harsh but yeah, it's a different level than the more substantive films they've put out

They've always sucked. They're just a rip off of the Raving Rabbids from the Rayman universe

YES totally

Neither "frozen" nor "minions" are Pixar films. But a good rant nonetheless.

I'd like to see a minions movie where they take on Taylor Swift and freeze her in carbonite.
