This series, or just her videos in general, deserve their own thread. I only started watching them the other day but she certainly makes some awesome arguments. I'd rather watch them without having TheAmazingAtheist's misogynistic bullshit videos and incoherent rants by Men's Rights Activists (lol) popping up on the sidebar though :cerious:

I saw this for the first time today and was unaware about all the controversy surrounding it - the content was good but the delivery was abysmal. It sounded like a bored student reading an end of year paper to her class. Plus she got nearly $160,000 worth of donations, which at 12 intended episodes works out at over $13,000 per episode - what on earth has she done to justify that $13,000 over those 20 minutes ?

I found this series a lot more enlightening and engaging - and they didn't ask for a penny: http://retrowaretv.com/category/shows/the-video-game-years/

yeah the production could be MUCH better....but honestly what she had to go through because of this is/was disgusting, and its cheesy but Im proud of her to stand up to that level of harassment. I certainly don't know if I could put up with it.

oooh, i can already feel the local libertarian cock getting hard by sticking it to the ma...ehr, low skilled workers.

yeah it might seem assholish but so is the TSA and HSA shoving their cocks down our throats every loving chance they get. You do realize none of that is necessary, right? And you do realize it is within civilian authority to refuse to answer these questions, right?

its creepy to think that to uphold the Due Process Clause and U.S. v. Martinez-Fuerte is "sticking it to low skilled workers."

Thanks for linking me up! Watched the latest episode and it definitely looks interesting.

I actually quite liked the delivery; it probably appeals to the academic in me but I thought it suited the content. I'd be interested to see a documentary on this presented in a style like Richard Curtis for example, but I thought the content made up for it. Plus the two documentaries seem to have very different focus points, so I'd say it's a given the delivery would be different. You could also raise the argument that the documentary series, albeit unintentionally, doesn't feature any female perspectives on video game history and was funded by well known male icons within the video game industry that due to cultural restraints meant it was acceptable to make enough money to fund this sort of project. Personally I'd say that means the content is even more important and could excuse poor delivery; I get your point though.

In terms of the funding, she made a post not too long ago detailing how she's been using the money. Judging by the delay and the pictures, it seems she's bought a shitload of games for research. She's also working on putting together a school curriculum, so it seems she's been quite busy since funding for the project started off and is expanding into some very interesting fields.

Plus hey, I'd give her $13,000 an episode to enrage a bunch of misogynistic neckbeards :emotawesomepm9:

EDIT: Didn't mean to cut you out of the conversation Smetty, sorry about that.
