What Kind of genre did you start with when you started making songs and do you still make the same genre or have you gone to something else?

I do not even know what kind of genre I make, some call it EDM others IDM. I must admit that I do not really am up to date with todays genres. When I listen music its mostly from the 60-80's.

Dived straight into big beat, the only genre that matters.

I miss big beat. Super-sample-heavy genres in general I miss, damn copyright layers .....

I make Tasmanian psych opera with nothing but a bucket, chopsticks, some tin cans, a ferret and a Hammond organ.

Started making kinda downtempo IDM, made a handful of dubstep tracks, instrumental hip-hop, some techno, more idm experimentations etc.. most recent stuff has been rather noisey... probably gonna continue to go down that road, only incorporating guitar manipulations and analog wankery, we'll see thats kinda an in progress thing.

Thinking about doing 60s folk love songs, like a deconstructed everly brothers, but more haunting, and produced with an “electronic” toolset, but still sparse drums and guitar and vocal with harmony. Kind of like an Ernest combination of nick drake, Mac demarco, and forest swords.

house -> microhouse -> ... -> currently at picohouse. you gotta listen real hard. cant fuck with pads anymore, not enough room in the mix, kills the orbital drop. without the photons its just quiet trap. pm me if you want to chat
