https://fourtet.bandcamp.com/album/randoms "Over the years there have been some pieces of music that I have made specially for compilation projects or have ended being released only as part of a compilation album. As time passes I look back at this music and find the context it was originally put in often feels a bit random now. The oldest track here is Field from 1996, the first Four Tet track ever released on Leaf Records Invisible Soundtracks compilation. The most recent is Gillie Amma I Love You which was made for a charity project called BOATS in 2013. All the…

The word cognition comes from the Latin verb cognosco (con 'with' and gnōscō 'know') (itself a cognate of the Greek verb γι(γ)νώσκω gi(g)nόsko, meaning 'I know, perceive' (noun: γνώσις gnόsis 'knowledge')) meaning 'to conceptualize' or 'to recognize DJ Stingray 313 - Cognition a1. https://bleep.com/release/35931 I know midnight crimes got some buzz on here, but I can't find anything on this. It's pretty amazing stuff. I was looking at Galaxy Gardens and getting all excited, and then I saw this and am maybe equally excited. Whoever wrote this bleep description is right, I really hear some strange mix of BoC and Andy Stott.

Out Now http://dmp666.bandcamp.com/album/codex-obscura-nomina BLUT AUS NORD - Spectral Subsonic Waves (The Sound Is An Organic Matter) As is their wont, BLUT AUS NORD follows up 2014’s classicist Memoria Vetusta III – a truly iconic album of epic, beauteous and atmospheric Black Metal – with a dichotomous trip further into unfathomable realms of the Black Metal avant-garde. This is yet another new way. The 4 pieces that comprise Spectral Subsonic Waves spring from the interstices between outsider black metal, noise, dark ambient, electronic psychedelia and 20th Century classical. Exospheres of skewed glissando melodies incant magick atop hallucinoge…

"25 year old multi instrumentalist James Kelly is, until now, best known as the sole permanent member and writer behind black metal outfit Altar Of Plagues, who have released two critically acclaimed albums on iconic labels Profound Lore and Candlelight. Using found sounds, homemade instruments and field recordings as a base, Altar Of Plagues create music “Full of radical tangents and alien-to-black metal elements, more focused on frailty and struggle than majesty and grandeur” – Pitchfork. These ideas transfer to James’ solo recordings as WIFE. Embracing his long standing passion for electronic music the tracks on ‘Stoic’, his debut, limited edition EP which came out…

"Two years on from his last outing on Antwerp's quietly impressive Ekster imprint, Hiele returns with seven more slabs of hard-to-pigeonhole compositions. Those well versed in the evolving history of IDM will pick out clear Selected Ambient Works-era Aphex Twin, Autechre and Boards of Canada influences, but Hiele is no classic Warp tribute artist. There's a quirky inventiveness about what he does, which can veer from the spacious, beat-less and out there, to skittish and rhythmically dense. Throughout, he never loses sight of the importance of melody, even when he's playing around with twisted acid lines, broken computer style beats, and High Wolf style psychedelics." …
