Suggest me an album 1 2
by Guest Backson- 25 replies

i was thinking back on this year so far and the fact I haven't heard anything I've been amazed by yet. Not that its been a bad year, but I wouldn't even know where to look for something good. so maybe you can help me? here are some things that might help. -i don't like ambient or formless music -i enjoy conceptual, emotional and even melodramatic music. nothing with boring chords. -i like well structured albums, that start and end with the proper emotions thanks

This is the mix. Listening now. As for the release there is nothing about it really. They just posted something about it on their Facebook. But no news on the black dog site or the Soma site. Coming Soon: The Black Dog - Sex, Magick & Rave - DS93

Nothing too serious What's your fondest memory of being part of the Rephlex gang? Playing Mario Kart in our upstairs lounge or sitting around the kitchen table in our Stoke Newington house. http://myuzyk.net/overflow/Text/Ten-Questions-Global-Goon

http://www.1bitsymphony.com/ Pretty interesting stuff. Elements of minimalism involved, and I like the tech. Apparently the last movement is infinite, you just switch off the device when finished.

http://pitchfork.com/news/39694-video-grinderman-heathen-child-nsfw-and-totally-bonkers/ Only just stumbled across this, not quite sure what to think because I found hard to concentrate while being bombarded with nipples and hot-chip-esque lazorz o_o So what did people think of the first Grinderman? I loved Electric Alice, but never gave the rest of the album a chance, I was more impressed by Dig Lazarus Dig

i've been into these guys since the tefosav days - excellent stuff. their latest album is a return to form in a way, more electronic than post-rock. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7dDvpZvmZbk this one reminds me of firestarter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Ag_O1j7jns also, probably my favourite 65dos song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNy-8jboaKM

i've been a fan of this band for a long time but these last few days i've rediscovered them; i'd forgotten how god damn fucking dancy they are. gang of four have a really odd, skewed take on the post-punk thing (particularly their debut, entertainment! imo) - intelligent, political lyrics, funky-ass bass, a sort of uniquely english take on the dub aesthetic in the production, and really fucking weird scratchy trebly guitar - andy gill has a pretty unique style. jon king sounds sounds absolutely fucking furious on entertainment from start to finish, but you can still go mental on the dancefloor to every track on the album too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7sNf…

Could someone get me a high quality rip of Careflake from Ceeland. I have a rip from the tape but the quality is a bit low. Is this track available on another release or in flac or something? Any help is much appreciated.

Is La Ritournelle the only good thing he's ever done? His name still pops up in magazines and such but everything I've hard apart from that one great track is a load of piss. Given he pisses in loads of directions but piss is piss. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_p0BMB2QC4&feature=related

There is little to be known about this artist, other than free releases on the music site saluut.net, run by [awesome] Japanese electronic music producer Jemapur. But seroiusly, this mix speaks for itself. I was compelled to share because it's been rocking my world for the last week. http://www.saluut.net/2010/08/02/cllt-lost-clubbers-radio-3/ Filled with beats of the "idms," but with minimal tendencies and a refreshing Japanese style. I don't know quite how to describe it, but I wouldn't be posting it here if I didn't think you guys will love it - if you like Jemapur - it'll be right up your alley. Also, I caught some Squarepusher in the background of one s…

Dam Mantle
by Guest Coalbucket PI- 0 replies
Dam Mantle is an electronic musician who is good. He's been doing live shows all around the UK and Europe this summer and his live set is really great. The sound is hard to describe, it's often in the dubstep kind of tempo but otherwise nothing like it, he uses vocals and cut up samples expertly, dunno yeah? He's certainly not stuck in any genre and he switches styles a lot which I like. Anyway, basically a good chap whos just getting going. Some things to check out: Rebong, my favourite of his tracks, glorious cut up harp sample http://soundcloud.com/dammantle/2-dam-mantle-rebong remix of Gold Panda http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-TSCk7HuP4 interview o…

The Knife T-Shirt
by Guest Backson- 5 replies
- 2.7k views
The Knife have updated their store with stuff, including a shirt. This annoys me becuase I have no money. It also comes with a free Rabid Records sampler that features a few tracks I haven't seen before (but are probably old b-sides): 1. The Knife - Afraid Of You 2. The Knife - Forest Families 3. The Knife - I Just Had To Die 4. The Knife - Three Boys 5. Fever Ray - Dry And Dusty 6. The Knife - Kino (Live) 7. Fever Ray - Triangle Walks (James Rutledge Remix)

I've thought about this ever since i came here to be honest. Without wishing to lick anyone's arse some of you produce such high quality music that it's a shame you don't get any for it apart from some guy such as myself saying nice one, thanks. Majority say f all too, which is even worse. I understand that you make it because you enjoy it but still, i think a paypal donation thing whatever it is might be a good idea for a number of you. Isn't it so unlikely that you'll get a contract these days that looking elsewhere with other methods for the income is the way forward? Likewise with the featured artists forum... hell i never look at it really... on the whole t…
