Okay, so I've heard Coh, Alva Noto, Cyclo, Elph, Ryoji Ikeda, and Ø. What other raster noton artists should I listen to? What are your favorites? This is such a great label.

For me this band really were something. Karin Dreijer (the knife, fever ray) being the lead voice and creative force behind it. They sound somewhat like a hybrid of the Pixies and My Bloody Valentine. But with a whole other level of tenderness and melancholia. I'd kill to have seen them live... one of my favourites

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6vbko30u a bit different from your usual MAH show, the focus is on ambient ambient ambient. chris morris, jamie woon (who burial did a very nice remix for), and even some academic wirey sounding stuff. which was nice.

i'm looking for something similar to that aphex twin album. something with fast enough bpm to be considered maybe dancey but also noisy and aggressive.

i've taken to listening to music by just working through lists of names on a label. it's invigorating because often i have no idea what i'm hearing, no context or critical baggage. so i'm wondering what some of watmm's favorite record labels are. ones that have gone under, still crank out great music, or even like warp, were once great and now have succumbed to trends and fads. what are your favorite record labels?

a buddy of mine semt me this gala drop album today and it kind of caught me. i had never heard of these guys at all. kind of electronic and slow building. it can be kind of hippy crunchy at times but overall its pretty nice. anyone ever check these guys out at all? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n46nXutze5g&feature=related

I'm looking at putting some nice melodic tunes into the background of some home movies i've been shooting of my new nephew. In thinking of suitable tunes I got to thinking of trying to make up a mix of tunes that could perhaps be played to him to soothe him to sleep, whilst at the same time opening his mind to my kind of music from a really early age. So I put it out there.. can anyone recommend any tracks, albums, or artists that have a really nice melodic and gentle sound, something a little music box-esque perhaps. Cheers!!

At a Radiohead gig at Prauge's Výstaviště Holešovice Exhibition Hall on August 23, 2009, more than 50 fans collaborated to shoot in-the-crowd footage on Flip phones. The video was assembled and edited to make a concert film called Live in Praha, and then Radiohead themselves gave the Czech fans behind the concert film their own audio masters from the show, according to the Live in Praha site and confirmed by a representative from the band. (Via The Guardian.) It sounds amazing. Download or stream the entire 25-track set, in formats ranging from DVD quality on down, for free here Id love to get the audio as radiohead provided their masters for it.

Seeing how dubstep is more played out than toilet paper, how come we aren't seeing dubstep producers step the shit up and make dubstep how it was supposed to be made...with a donk on it!?

im starting to border on obsession, glasgow is absolutely unreal for it. few high lights of the last few months have been d'julz green velvet slam livio + roby harri robert hood raresh laurent garnier felix da housecat tiger + blome spektre jesse rose yousef loco dice sneak + carter ive lost quite a few stone dancing like a wanker three times a week, its great. im weighing up which is more fun, pulling off a sick performance on the piano, hearing a beautifully bassy drop on a nice soundsystem, or sex. atm i think im actually going for the nice bassy drop.
