UMEK 'Revolution @ Space' Co-production Contest

UMEK 'Revolution @ Space' Co-production Contest Make it a revolution we can dance to. Carl Cox is on a mission to unleash another summer of total musical madness in Ibiza with The Revolution Continues @ Space Ibiza. An all-out musical offensive to liberate electronic dance music in the name of those hands-in-the-air, dance floor moments of unity that change lives. What better place than at Space Ibiza – the mecca of clubbing and Ibiza’s most infamous club? In collaboration with some of the most celebrated names in the scene, Carl wants nothing less than to turn every Tuesday into an out of this world experience. A big part of that is his commitment to p…

Hiya! I've got a pretty rare Cylob mix CD for anyone who wants it. It's a CD-R hand-labelled "DJ Cylob mix 11/2001". I won it from Cylob's website, so it's legit. I can only imagine it was burnt and labelled by Cylob himself. So anyway, as much as I like Rewind and Cut the Midrange, Drop the Bass, DJ mix CDs aren't really my thing. eBay won't let me sell it because they're convinced all CD-Rs are bootlegs, so I'm just going to give it to the first person to PM me their UK postal address. I'd just like to know it's going to a good home where someone will really appreciate having it. Thanks, Zoe.

I think Radiohead works best. Sporting an enormous hangover and blasting the bends is me at the moment. Deep minimal techno is good too.

Is it just me or are the lyrics on the Tomboy 7" single leak very hard to decipher. Anyone care to shed some light on the lyrics of these two songs? I can only make out odd words here and there. It's a shame cause all I want 2 do is blast sum chill P-Bear and sing along with my bro Noah.

I know there's been mention of them in a thread before, but thought I'd give them a topic of their own for 5 minutes. I quite like the "ghosts" track that's on the discogs page, checking them out on youtube, they seem like a decent bit of popppy disco. I gather they're from the states, but they seem to have that nice 80s britpop sound about them, with a touch of a twist... Others' thoughts?

Something I'm seriously interested in right now is "Clapping Music", written in 1972 by Steve Reich. For those who don't know, it is a minimalist piece of music performed entirely by two people clapping. The first musician claps this bar 156 times (the entire length of the piece): *clap* *clap* *clap* *miss* *clap* *clap* *miss* *clap* *miss* *clap* *clap* *miss* But the second musician has a trickier task. They clap the above bar over and over, and at first they are synchronized with the other musician. But every 12 bars, they shift one beat to the left. So the above bar becomes: *clap* *clap* *miss* *clap* *clap* *miss* *clap* *miss* *clap* *clap* *miss* *cl…

Talk About the Passion - R.E.M.'s Discography Reviewed
by Guest madehq- 0 replies

Michael Stipe, Mike Mills, Peter Buck and Bill Berry, four young ambitious musicians not content with small town life came Athens, Georgia, a small community that would soon become famous as the college music capitol of the United States. There they found each other and formed a band which, after several name changes, would come to be known as R.E.M. Fourteen studio albums and millions of record sales later, the band remains a powerful force in music, constantly evolving musically and lyrically and selling out shows in the process. Such success stories are the stuff of legends, and as one of the most critically respected and adored bands of the past thirty years, R.E.…

I love this music. Every time I put it on, I imagine sitting in a leather armchair and smoking out of a tobacco pipe, while listening to it on a hi-fi system, in a fallout shelter, in the 1950's, with some fake palm tree like plants in the corner. Sea Shanties

are sea shanties a proper genre? if so, what are some good ones? i want to hear a sea shanty so gritty and vivid that I can imagine what it is like to be an old large white bearded man who almost dies everytime he goes out to catch his squids or whatever. Plus he lives in a hut ontop of a cliff.
