So i was just laying by the fireplace with my cat on my stomach in the room beside the kitchen and my wife is telling me about her day and then asks if I can come into the kitchen b/c she needs help thinking about what to do with "some chicken." I say, "um I can help you from here, what chicken" then she's like just some chicken right here I need you to come here to talk about this." and so I'm like "ah um how about we continue our talking but we just change the subject from your workplace to chicken. that sounds like it will accompliish what you want and will also allow me to continue laying here by the fire which is pretty nice." then she goes quiet for about ten se…

Sonic CD has recently been re-released. Posting thread to ensure it doesn't slip under any radars :-) Originally released in 1993 on the Sega CD. Game has been ported and re-developed from scratch and released on PSN/Xbox Live + iOS/Android. It has been rebuilt to include Sonic 2-style speeddash + widescreen resolution + unlockable option to play as Tails. Been playing it on the PS3, and I'm actually blown away at the quality of this game. Absolutely solid original Sonic gameplay matching Sonic 2 (maybe) in overall goodness. It's a whole lot more enjoyable than that 'I want it to be good but it's actually really crappy' Sonic 4 episode 1 game. Recommended to a…

ITT: Try to answer this question as best as you can. I'll start. God is an idea created by humans. It represents the collective superego, the force of all the moral ideas of humans put together. "Superego" is a Freudian term used to describe the part of a person's mind that learns how to act appropriately in human society. How to make moral decisions, what people think of you, and so forth. My opinion is that the moral ideas associated with God are, for the most part, corrupt and erroneous. The main problem I have with God is the idea of sexual gratification being morally and ethically wrong, in and of itself. I go on for a bit in the spoiler tag. Yo…

So I do sound at a bar in SF, and every once in a while, one of the employees will get super drunk and sleep in the bar. Last night, I had just such an inkling. I wanted to set up our cot on the roof and snooze while staring up at the night sky. Well the neighbors saw me up there and thought I was a burglar or something, so they called the cops. Apparently, I got charged with public intoxication and resisting arrest. Had to spend most of the night in the drunk tank by myself and didn't get out til about 10:45am. I still haven't slept since yesterday. And now I have to go to a hearing next week. The thing I don't understand is how can they charge me for public into…

Yin/Yang snacks 1 2

I'm sitting here eating grapes and almonds, which are hitting the spot right now. This kind of snack is what I like to call a Yin/Yang snack, where two things go with each other really well and cancel out your cravings. It's great. When the grapes make my mouth too sweet, I eat an almond. When the almonds make my mouth too dry, I eat a grape. Eating too much of one makes you crave the other, and the cycle leads to slow satisfaction. These kinds of combinations are rare and valuable. Another one to try is banana and cream crackers, which can actually be eaten at the same time. Post your Yin/Yang snacks, ITT.

is pretty much the worst thing in the world. how the fuck are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet? I usually give it a few seconds and then end up wadding it up and stuffing it in a drawer. and then of course it takes up the whole drawer. fuck a fitted sheet man. i'm going bareback tonight.

I really, really like sincerity. I can at the very least appreciate that on some level even if the person is being a sincere annoying loudmouth. I just love it when people do and say what they mean. Like someone who screams in a library just because they want to. The epitome is of this when someone looks you in the eye and you can tell they love you sincerely. I also like curiosity. Curious people are showing genuine interest in life, which is almost always a good environment to be in. It's amazing what you can learn about all the things you take for granted when you are round a curious person. Innocence is nice. This goes with curiosity I think. I have…

Just got off the phone with my bank. They sent me a letter that informed me that they can share my personal information, "social security number... income... account balances... employment information... credit history and transaction history" with "affiliates... non-affiliates" and "financial companies" for "marketing purposes and business purposes". THIS IS REALLY FUCKING SCARY! I called both my credit branch and banking branch to limit as much as I possibly can. Unfortunately, you can't completely limit what they share. They also tried to tell me that I couldn't do it over the phone and that I'd have to do it by mail to some P.O. Box. I complained until I found…

Is an i5 processor worth it over an i3 Consider a hypothetical scenario of running a moderate CPU usage java based online game, a 10-man skype call, iTunes converting the file format of many albums at once, and a virus scan running in the background Could an i3 handle this Would an i5 be worth it Current specs: MS Windows XP Professional SP2 Intel Pentium D CPU 2.66GHz 894MB RAM ATI Radeon Xpress 200 graphics card Really starting to notice annoying lag with these specs. Looking to modernize and get Windows 7 etc with hopefully an i5-2500 processor Looking to spend under $700 What is a good graphics card? Can I use my old graphics card on a n…
