WATMM, meet the 64 contenders for this year's MOST IDM bracketology.

 

The bracketology can be found here. I apologize that the long contenders' names have been truncated. Maybe next year I'll shop around for a better bracketology website to support the long names of some of our more eccentric players. The full names of the contenders can be found in the poll of this thread.

 

I will also announce that, of the 7 contenders with 13 votes each, 6 had to be cut due to the lack of space. I kept Procrastination, and cut:

 

Ice water with ice on mercury

Japanese spider crabs

Kelp forests

Lithium (the element)

No being able to have eye contact during a conversation

Supermassive black holes

 

I've also accelerated the schedule again. The next schedule is:

 

 

Voting on the top 64 ends on the 16th of March
Voting on the top 32 ends on the 18th of March
Voting on the sweet 16 ends on the 20th of March
Quarterfinal voting ends on the 22th of March
Semifinal voting ends on the 24th of March
The final round of voting ends on the 27th of March.

 

The top two seeds this year are both old players: Smoking a pipe inside a space helmet and Windows 95. Could it finally be the year for one of them? Time will tell.

 

Lots of interesting pairings and plenty more to come. Let's start voting!

 

EDIT: Also, ignore the hyphen after Phil Collins. That was a typo.

A dark rogue planet travelling the cosmic void alone has a nice Lovecraftian/scifi horror feel to it.

C'mon people, Birds photographed like they are people is the future of IDM. Don't vote for that fact that a single album happened to be released before it had a chance to leak.
