Not to be nit-picky, but devo's Hardcore stuff could technically be seen as "proto-punk" / "proto-new wave".

It's my favorite stuff of theirs, btw.

quite a fan of PiL, good stuff and a back catalogue worthy of intense investigation, with plenty of rewards to be found
