Looking forward to this one. Samples sound great. Bunnik is perhaps best known for his robust techno productions as Conforce but he operates under a multitude of other aliases, including Hexagon, Vernon Felicity and the dub techno-focused Silent Harbour. Versalife is the project the Dutchman reserves for his more electro-inspired material, with several 12-inches already on Clones Westcoast Series offshoot, the same label that will release Vantage Point. Although this is the debut Versalife album, it's by no means Bunnik's first full-length outing, with two Conforce LPs released in the past four years. Vantage Point's sound was reportedly inspired by "the horizons an…

"The 33-minute release comes nine months after their latest full-length, Parastrophics. While that album was five years in the making, WOW was completed in just a few weeks. According to a press release, it presents a "club-oriented counterpoint to Parastrophics," with excursions into acid and bass music among other styles. Many of the tracks feature vocals from Dao Anh Khanh, a Vietnamese performer and sculpture that band members Jan St. Werner and Andi Toma met while touring Asia in 2010. Other guest appearances come from producer Eric D. Clarke and the Argentinian punk band Las Kellies. Like Parastrophics, WOW will see release on Modeselektor's Monkeytown Records." …

"March 5, Julianna Barwick returns with two new haunting compositions for a 7" single on Suicide Squeeze Records. "Pacing" features Barwick's voice and layered harmonies, "but it's a bit of a diversion from the vocal loop-based songs I tend to make" says Barwick. "I absolutely love the piano. I wish I could play it better. For the cover, I chose my friend Peter Coffin's photograph of a piece he did based on the Newton color scale that corresponds perfectly to the musical scale. I absolutely love the image and it corresponds well with the piano pieces on the single." The b-side, "Call," is a frail and passionate solo piano piece." [youtubehd]6iap_Ku3rjY[/youtubehd] …

NELES011 "Dispensing with the linearity of his earlier releases, this album sees Monolog X continue some of the ideas introduced in The Shape of X to Come, developing them to create a dynamic, evocative and characteristically poloymorphic release, simmering with intensities and glistening with ideas." Flute - Relic (ep)

New ep, "Relic," just put up by the virtually unknown Flute on his website www.flutegate.com. Here's an apt description: "Flute is the solo electronic act of Virginia's Leigh Hanes, formed in 2010. Harnessing the sonic potential of samplers while preserving the organic nuances of hardware electronics and analog processing, Flute combines conventional and electronic instrumentation to explore a place where sounds exist detached from their traditional contexts. Flute subverts and distorts some of the conventions of late 20th century music genres, reforming them into percussive soundtracks simultaneously familiar and eerily alien. The result is a sometimes disorienting…

oval gives away a bunch of tracks from his south american tour with local vocalists. just gave it a short listen, but it seems to work quite well. download via http://de-bug.de/musik/10384.html interesting stuff (though maybe not as good as the so album, which is one of my alltime glitch faves)

Box Clever / Black Box still keeping the dubstep vibes alive. This tune is ridiculous. The A-side is brilliant as well.

Did this really not get discussed. Listened when it came out, but just gave it a fresh listen and really can't believe how wonderful it is. So much touching on classic TG while nodding to all those that were begat from their sound. Great stuff.

"A new full length album, ‘The Marriage Of True Minds’, in 2013." "As ambitious as their projects have been in the past, Matmos' new album may just represent their most difficult challenge to date - and certainly their most esoteric. The Marriage Of True Minds', so far four years in the making, sees Daniel and Schmidt moving beyond the sound of creatures or surgery for their sonic palette. Instead, they used the minds of composers, comrades and the occasional scribe - including your humble narrator - through a series of psychic experiments. In these experiments Drew attempts, under 'psientific conditions', to transmit the concept of the new album into their subje…

Maxmillion Dunbar is one half of Beautiful Swimmers and the don behind the Future Times record label. "Maxmillion Dunbar's recent material has exuded a certain gentle euphoria, almost like he's programmed his synths to emit little blasts of serotonin with each hook or melody. It's a formula that works because each splash of colour is anchored by rugged, hypnotic drums—the rough and the smooth work in unison." (Resident Advisor, 4/5) "His curse is that he's making music in a field of alt-electronic bedroom producers both totally divorced from pop music and yet overcrowded with some of the most rote and uncreative musical minds imaginable. His gift is that he isn'…
