Joyrex, so are you confirming it has leaked? Also, why have you become increasingly more intolerant of things over the years? Did WATMM contact you?

I could care less if it leaked or not. And no, I don't have any promos or anything - I can easily wait until March for it to come out.

No, I haven't had dealings with WARP (or any other label or artist for that matter) for years now - they all distanced themselves from this site when it started to descend into a Something Awful/Reddit knockoff with all the poop humour and porn stuff. That was one of the reasons behind the rule changes a few years ago, but at this point I think my reputation is shot. It was also one of the reasons Snares (privately) didn't want to be associated with this site - the juvenile humour and behaviour of it's members, and my condoning of it. Same for Cylob. Mentioned the same thing with the homophobic slurs thrown around here.

Anyway, let's aknowledge that many of us just love posting retarded posts and that this place just looks like a place full of nerds, fanboys, teenagers, and seemingly socially-isolated individuals.

It looks to me like, if JR wanted to restore the reputability of the resources he's been working on, you'd have to split WATMM into two separate sites, one for just general discussion, and then a completely separate site that has the WATMM proper content and just the music-related boards, and hope that you can attain that Onion A.V. Club-level of discourse.



But now I feel like I understand your p.o.v. much better overall. I like WATMM as it is, but seeing your vision for it, I can definitely understand how you feel!

I wouldn't say he is against it, but when a whole forum of people make it the order of the day...

 

president obamba didn't have a problem with acknowledging reddit..i guess idm overlords' standards are "higher".

I doubt Obama knows what lurks in some of Reddit's darker corners... and if he did, he wouldn't be so quick to mention it.

Oh, certainly - but there are plenty of sites who are nothing more than a blog/forum and they get promos,and I was getting promos long after there was no visible content on the site (which sadly has been since 2003/4).

No way man, I only found WATMM in 06 and I joined the messageboard on the back of the content. It's been ages though. Are you still planning to get any of that going again? I'm happy to contribute to the Autechre side of things. Through my ridiculousness I am a passionate fan/follower/trivia-machine/stalker

I certainly want to - I've been mulling over the best way in which to approach it, as I want the entire community to contribute meaningfully, but not it be so open like a Wiki. I've even thought about ironically going old school and doing straight HTML like I started out with...
