HANEKE_2012_Amour_official_poster.jpgI went to this thinking that maybe Haneke finally found some existential peace and just wanted to make a nice film about a couple of elderly folks sharing their calm and happy third age.

It's his most disturbing and depressing film. Masterfully done but leaves you a wreck.

I loved this one. It didn't depress me one bit, it made me think "bring it on, I'm ready!"

it didn't depress me either. It was a beautiful insight on what it's like being old, and something profound about the most important thing in life, namely love.

edit: oh, looper, 8.5 /10. Even though they couldn't get rid of time travel paradoxes, it was highly enjoyable. Note: why does every modern science fiction film has to have furniture and people levitating ?

the Matrix is gone.

edit2: Baraka, 9.5 / 10, making its way to my top 10 all time list.

It depressed me beyond belief because of the mental degradation. My boyfriend is going through that because his mother has Alzheimer. The helplessness of the people surrounding the victim of the disease is what scares and depresses me. The possibility of someone who you love becoming totally unaware of who you are is extremely frightening to me.

Precious - 8, depressing as hell / great acting, photo, cinema & writing - the daydream sequences were possibly added to make it all lighter of weight (puns), they were unnecessary imho

wow Cruiserrific! Needs more drama face.

So basically the same plot as the Cruise movie, but substitute a black guy for the white one, and add in several Daaaaaayum! or similar Smithisms

I have witnessed this kind of mental degradation quite a few times in the past few years. And it was horrifying for me. This movie however, showed me that when you're there, in either of the two places you can be in, it really isn't as horrifying as I have imagined and feared. Yes there are super heavy moments. But if you can see past them, there are also beautiful ones. Relatives and friends never experience what's really going on between the couple.

looks like more crap gadget porn 'scifi', not surprised since it's directed by the guy who did a Gadget porn convention of a movie, Tron Legacy. Why does all new scifi seem to play out more like the keynote speech of an Apple convention rather than a good story? Same goes for Prometheus.

oh lordie - this couldn't annoy me more, especially on further investigating and finding not only is it his real son, Jaden, but also directed by M. Night Shyamalan - further proving of Smith's whoreing of his children for the big bucks

i am pretty excited for both of them. they look great. at this point i'm measuring all my scifi against syfy original productions as a base. the only thing to be concerned about is if a bit of popcorn kernal will get lodged somewhere in my mouth.

Looper - Pretty great first 30 minutes, then got worse by every minute it played. 6/10

Skyfall 3/10

What a overhyped piece of crap.

no way bra, that shit is super fresh on rotten tomatoes, there is no such thing as herd mentality, that many critics just can't be wrong i can feel it. Metacritic is off the charts too bra
