Ice Cold Soundcloud Link I'm looking for support/interest/enjoyment of a mix I spent a lot of time on the past couple months. I know this message board is probably partial to this style of music but I tried to make it as tasteful as possible. There's another mix up on my page the WATMM'ers would probably like more which has a more wide variety of tunes including a nice IDM bit towards the end (The Rated E For Algorhythm Mix). But today I'm promoting this dubstep in hopes people here will keep an open mind and find some interesting sounds! You know the drill, slap a like and follow on Soundcloud and I'll check out your page in return. I also have 170+ original tunes u…

Had a jam with some hardware stuff yesterday. I plan to do more these in future, just combining various gear in different combinations and see what comes out. The sequences were made earlier but the arrangement was fairly improvised. https://youtu.be/FHxqDLEHjVw

A couple of weeks ago I decided to make a tune using only modular stuff, hard synths, and whatever instruments I had lying around. Unfortunately, I had to use a couple of soft synths so after a while my idea went straight out the window. I’m on my way out so I’ll give feedback on some tunes later this weekend 😉

don't expect to find "music" here, this is just me playing a squarepusher chord progression. i don't have a sustain pedal so it might sound a bit mechanical. i might use this thread for more stuff like that in the future, who knows. enjoy!

Hi, So, at the age of 48 I decided to start making some tunes..... Years ago I dabbled about with Reason but didn't really do anything exciting with it. Last year I bough a new laptop and a Live10 suite and started up learning the basics through youtube tutorials etc (learning shit is harder when you're older!) I've done a couple of tracks that I'm kinda happy with, though I think there's something missing? Thanks for looking/listening.

A track I made. I used a sample of drum beat from an old NBA game from archive.org.

A little project I've been working on in between writing my own stuff. I've always been fascinated with SAW 85-92 and how it was created, as there's not a whole lot of info about it on the internet. I thought it would be a fun challenge to try to recreate some of the tracks to maybe find out myself, through trial an error, how some of it was made.

I'm going to copy Glomewav's idea and just deposit my music/music videos on this one thread. This last one's a repeat of a previous post, adding it here for completeness's sake and because I like it so damn much:

I had briefly explored the sonic territory with pulsating sine waves that the likes of Ryoji Ikeda and Aoki Takomasa mastered. I still use such sounds in my tracks, mostly for textures. I had made a short EP that is all based on pulsating sine waves (and some FM as well), most of this was done in Max/MSP with small sequencing and layering touches.

Well actually two at different times. They aren't mine. I don't think it's worth it since I have access to other people's Disclaviers, who know more people with them if I ever want to try out different ones. Made a lot of these with a basic piano synth to nail down the melody. Then took the midi to the disk as I usually only had a day or sometimes two to make the track.

Processed the hell out of a short guitar recording thru different shades of static and some granular processing. I like the melancholic vibes it ended up having.

I'm a genre butterfly. Usually very melodic. I have a go at IDM | breaks | ALT-POP | ambient | D&B/jungle. I gave up on getting any sort of label exposure long ago. I played in a band called Jilk for a long time. That stuff is widely available online. MELODIC IDM ALT-POP BREAKS / INSTR HIP HOP AMBIENT
