VST issue
by Guest covenant- 6 replies

Greetings, I need a software that allows me to load more than one VST instrument, and then assign one midi channel to each. Just like Kontakt does. I can load samples, and assign a different midi channel to each, and then trigger them on my external sequencer. I need a software like this but to work with VST's. I tried Renoise, but it plays on All midi channels (Omni). Thank you very much

i'm trying to connect these things without any luck. no sound whatsoever.. the connections is currently going like this, the pci RME hammerfall card is connected with optical cables to the alesis ai3 adat interface. both in and outs are connected to eachother. the 1st analog "out" is then connected to the 1st line in of the mixer. the mixer has the Main out left and right connected via analog cables to the respective left and right monitors. the adat interface doesn't display any signal being transmitted so that could be where the problem is, i'm not sure how to connect the optical cables, theres like 4 plugs on the rme card (one thats smaller) and i have no ide…

   i'll be moving back to my home in west va, and will be computerless... Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... things to know: - i don't know exactly what makes a laptop ideal for music. i'm guessing part of it is memory, as i tend to run several wave editors with lots going on. - i'm not looking for a desktop, and i don't care if they are better for music. i want portability above all. - my financial range is flexible, but i'd like to stay under $1200. i'll probably finance. - preferably pc. windows 2000 or better (for audio card compatability) THNAKS YUO>

check this out: http://www.tank-fx.de/ those guys have built a huge reverb chamber and set up a server that accepts your audio-files (up to 60 seconds), plays them in the reverb chamber, records them, uploads them and instantly (well, a minutes later when the processing and uploading is done) gives a link so you can download your processed audio-file in flac/mp3/ogg format!!! :omg: frickin' genius. and i have to say that it sounds pretty damn nice too... awesome...

so i've been producing dnb all this year and feel like a change i've always liked guys like monolake, pole, loscil, etc. but never made anything like that now in dnb, you might spend 5 days solid cutting up and processing breaks - only to resample them, work them into an arrangement, cut them up again, re-EQ everything, layer them with more single hits and other breaks, and spend weeks on the arrangement and mixdown it's anal and time consuming - which is why i always get bored of what i'm working on now at the other extreme, i try a new experiment - load up an oscillator->carrier and make a simple bassdrum - throw in a synthesized mallet-type so…

Which of you whizzy biatches have one of these. I'd like to know which ones have, and if so, have how many Roland TR-noises. Or just generally have the sluttiest electric drum noises like the TRs. All contributions & sassy remarks appreciated.

what would the specs of a great laptop look like? maybe like a 3 ghz processor and 1 gig of ram with firewire for an external soundcard what is a generous cpu for a desktop computer that let's you run pretty much any vst you want? what would your dream laptop look like or maybe post some links... right now i'm guessing a laptop with the specs up there^ would be quite expensive will computer prices drop once vista is released? i'm guessing you will need a hefty (powerful) computer to run it it's either i buy a laptop in the future or an expensive hardware synth, i think a laptop would be a better idea, better value for the money what kinda laptops d…

My friend and i started a band... i started with my Korg ESX1 which inspired him to get a microkorg and we have been playing for a few months now and have recorded quite a bit. Anywho... on to the new hardware: i did a craigslist search and a guy 30 minutes away was selling a fleshy-mass of equipment so out of it i'm getting: korg-EM1- $50 Mackie VLZ Pro 1202- $110 Both are stated ot be in great shape except for the loose effects knobby on the EM1. I'm pissing joy and cant wait to twist some knobbies.

In my laptop I have the creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS and was tricked by their clever wording thinking it recorded in stereo. Are there any PCMCIA cards out there that record in stereo that are under $100? maybe a tiny bit over $100. Thanks!

i'm getting cash this week and planning to get at least a microkorg or something. basically i'm at complete lack of knowledge of how hardware works, how would I go about connecting things, what exactly do I need? do i need a mixer thing? and what kind of cords/cables would i need? i'm not talking specifically about the microkorg now but also how most synths and hardware things work. and what'd be the best way to record a synth?

yo, i want to get a 49 key midi keyboard. i don't want it to have knobs or slider because i'm going to purchase a Behringer BCR2000 B-Control Rotary (copy and paste) so a simple keyboard, 49 keys.. the main reason i want a new keyboard is because the keys on my oxygen 8 have a horrible feel to them. very spring like i'm sure there are other brands other than the big midi keyboard companys that offer basic 4 octave keys, i just don't know them i searched musicians friend and i found two acceptable keyboards i think: the edirol pc-50, i like the look of this one & the m-audio keystation 49 e, but i'm not too sure about this one because it probably will…

Not too impressed so far with the tracks I've reviewed. There are a few gems but nothing really worth developing upon. A lot of seemingly unfinished or rushed music is being posted and I don't think it's fair that YLC is being littered with garbage and half-assed music anymore. I don't think it's fair of me to really come on here and say stuff like, "take more pride in your music." but for fuck's sake. Also, I know I'm not gaining any fans by doing the sort of reviews that I need to do. But Jesus Christ, some of you really, really need to hear it. If you don't like what I have to say about it, that's cool, but the real shame is not learning anything from peopl…

I once uploaded some samples of various drum whispers, but I'm afraid I can't remember who asked for these, but if someone has drum whisper samples then I would very much like a copy of them.
