It just sucks to have some of these releases come out like right before New Years and then have no time to cook in your ears. Maybe the Academy Awards does it the right way and waits till like the following spring.

Yeah leave it open for a week or 2 in January as well - think that's what we did last year.

 

Lukid and Vladislav Delay's Kuopio are freaking mine ears at the moment... all in all not a bad year at all for new music, only real disappointment was the laurel halo album, which seemed to have everything going for it until first listen, then

awesome list troon (not trolling, we have common interest! halfway there i think, i will try to check most of them - my playtime mostly goes to older releases - going through label catalogs and artist discographies.) i see grimes, but no laurel halo and ryat, how come?

It's pretty good. Honestly I was a bit of a cynic because it was too almost too polished and cohesive (much like the xx album from this year)

 

If there's a "post-witch house" album akin to that of James Blake being "post-dubstep" it's Shrines. Holy Other's Held had the same vibe too.
