I've always laughed off the pee tape as a plausible but fantastical assumption but I have to admit it seems pretty damn possible at this point. I can see a tape of him getting pissed on by hookers having a far bigger impact than those more serious crimes, which is all kinds of f'ed up really. This IMO is exactly what it is about. Trump Industries has been dealing with sketchy Ruskie businessmen for a long time now. One example I read about was what was involved in building the Trump hotel in Toronto (they later changed the name after he became president shithead). The level of shadiness that went on behind the scenes in getting that thing financed was incredibly complex (think multiple front companies). It even included the killing of some known russian gangster in NYC, I think his body was found somewhere in Queens. The whole deal was on the verge of falling apart when in steps some mysterious Russian born Toronto billionaire who threw money at it to get it built, yet the thing sat there mostly empty for years and lost a ton of money. Anyway, there must be numerous other examples of team Trump working real estate deals with Russian financiers who are tied to organized crime/Putin. Money laundering must be just part of the whole thing. The difficult part of course is proving that Donnie was in the know on these deals...Mueller's got a tough fight ahead in trying to take down a huge criminal organization, led by the current sitting president of the United States... The difficult part of course is proving that Donnie was in the know on these deals...Mueller's got a tough fight ahead in trying to take down a huge criminal organization, led by the current sitting president of the United States... there's tat story about the property trump sold after owning it a year for $40 million profit to a russian oligarch. there's places in the UAE where they essentially use slave labor from india etc to build them. vice actually did a story on that one a couple years ago that is pretty good. mostly about labor practices related to the construction of trump properties. i wonder just how huge of an organization it is. it seems like the FBI vs the world at times. or a part of it.. a part of the world order is this massive criminal enterprise that involves heads of state of russia and USA. networks of banks and financial institutions. at times i find myself surprised that more bodies haven't started to drop yet.. maybe they have and we just don't know about them. also, the stuff w/wiki leaks and assange is wild and has to dove tail into all this. when everyone thought assange was dead a while back and then the encryption keys for the wiki docs were broken and everyone went a bit bananas... now it seems wiki is all pro russian jibber jabber. hopefully a book or two comes out about all this.. hopefully all this rolls up a big chunk of these people and they talk to roll up some more. if this really comes down there's going to be an attempt to clean house in american political system. Devos - Betsy Devos' brother is the Blackwater CEO. The family in general has hands in all sorts of shady nonprofits and lobbying firms benefitting from her steering the Education department. IIRC some of the contractors used for the immigrant family detentions are directly connected. Erik Prince, her brother, is essentially a movie-level mercenary millionaire at this point, essentially serving as the UAE's private army head and spearheading activities in Libya and South Sudan. A lot of middle east pivoting has paralleled financial interests of Trump and allies - the sudden backlash toward Qatar goes back to Kushner. I think the sad factor to all of this is that the US public is blissfully unaware or hesitant to be outraged at the true scale of all of this. Trump's been able to milk Clinton and Soros conspiracy angles because it either falls into the "both parties are bad" argument or perpetuates the long-standing conservative biased ire to left-leaning corruption which ranges from talk radio bitching to full-on conspiracy. It all comes full circle to the Russian connection of anti-democratic propaganda and maintaining this kleptocracy. It's scary how effective it is. People are normalized to Kremlin goals - naive "peaceful" ambitions, demonizing NATO, admiring the economic booms of depostic governments in Turkey, Philippines, and CIS states, discussing the Crimean invasion as a reasonable move by Russia. These talking points are literally seeping into mainstream right-leaning media outlets when they originate in some of the most anti-democratic sectors of right-wing fringe groups. The Trump admin has spurred it on to achieve and maintain their own goals. I think at the very least we're going to see the same sort of riots and violence of the 60s in Paris, Mexico City, and in US cities during the height of Vietnam. Manafort has some serious issues. The money laundering that Trump did for the Russians is nowhere more obvious than in his casino operations. He said the actual lecture by Peterson was devoid of any political stances but before he came on some local right wing radio asshat spoke about how important the culture wars are right now for 30+ minutes. My coworker is def not right-wing guy, in fact pretty much left of the aisle, and he said it was quite bizarre seeing these alt-right asshats cheering stuff completely unrelated to Peterson. Anyway I'm really out of the loop - what's the context of Stereolab (and apparently the Mumford & Sons?) being fans of the guy? What all have I missed? Shit's jarring but at the same time is a big deal? I have no idea. Hell I'm barely keeping up with the Grimes x Elon Musk shitshow.
