My Nissan Versa is almost paid off. But it's discount rack compared to something of Bond film caliber. Still runs fine though, so I can't complain.

While I appreciate these completely ostentatious displays of wealth, I feel like people are missing the aspirational part of the topic. Like as in it might be feasible to own one at some point.

Both of the sexy objects of material desire that make me ejaculate all over the proletariat are things I could actually own at some point. I'd really prefer the Audi if it was an electronic car, but for now all the Audi electronic cars suffer from range limitation.

Wouldn't mind a Raptor POWER9 machine.  I don't feel like spending $2k+ at the moment but it would definitely be a cool thing to tinker with.

A drunken thought occured to me that my own radiotelescope array would be pretty cool if I'd want to splurge on something. I'd be just scanning the nigth sky looking for weird signals.

No experience with these things, but I would save up for a speed boat if lived in a place with the climate for it. They’re fantastic fun.

And one thing you can do on a speed boat you can’t do on this: go out into the open sea, stop it and just float around lazily.

I had one of those when I lived in Massachusetts.  It isn't as nice at it seems.  Gets pretty lonely.

That’s why you need to have a liquor cabinet in it.

In the shape of a globe.

I didn't get bitten by the streaming bug 'til I tried out Apple Music around 6 months ago; I tried Spotify and the lot but didn't really get into it cus of the bad interface (+ ogg vorbis). Once I found out that Apple Music had seamless integration with their library and your local library + tag editing I was hooked, the convenience of this platform has made it almost impossible to go back to my 100% local library. The question that's been biting me ever since has been, "Is this moral?" not only is Apple (and every other streaming service) paying artists close to nothing, but also technically restricting the user's freedom with DRM.

Are streaming services further contributing to the corporate control over the music industry by shafting indie labels and individuals in the name of convenience? Do they cheapen the art form? Is any of this morally acceptable?
