Out on Carsten Nicolai's Raster-Noton label on 25th September. It's been two years since the last album from the Cologne-based experimental artist. As with 2013's Capsize Recovery, Closing Ice is coming out via Raster-Noton, one of two labels Jens Massel has been associated with throughout his 17-year production career (the other is wide-ranging German outlet Karaoke Kalk.) Raster-Noton says the nine-track album explores "bass-heavy and atmospheric compositions and the trips into the dark recesses of the human psyche."

https://liluglymane.bandcamp.com/album/trick-dice Cassette rip, 2 sides, no individual tracks. Plus a bonus instrumental mixtape, a dnb track, and a weird story read by a computer. The main thing is a bit hit or miss, but mostly pretty good. I'm really digging the instrumentals though.

Josh Eustis, formerly of Telefon Tel Aviv, is finally putting out a solo-album of new material on June 24th called 'Move To Pain' on 'Audraglint Recordings'. Sounds like it will be a spiritual successor to 2009's 'Immolate Yourself' if the first released track is any indication: There seems to be an upsurge of Newwave inspired music recently but this track has that extra something that clearly sets it apart. I am looking forward to this!

Killer debut transmission of Millsian techno disciplines, intercepted by Function's Infrastructure New York radar. "With its reliance on warped, alien sound design, garbled vocal samples, and science fiction soundscapes, there's a lot of reference points in both contemporary and historical techno, but the producer immediately stands out for being stranger and druggier than most and for his needling attention to sonic detail." (The Quietus) "Post Scriptum 01 is an album for techno fans seeking an immersive experience, which is all too rare these days. It will put you in a trance if you let it." (Resident Advisor, 4 out of 5) "The production is delectable, deta…

Techno compilation, includes Sleeparchive and Regis among others. "Repitch Selected Cuts is the first CD release for Berlin-based underground techno label Repitch. It consists of a selection of tracks from the most relevant releases the label has made, narrating the evolution of their exploration in heavy electronics and speculating on its forthcoming creations—a chance to look back and forward at the same time. Label founders Ascion, D. Carbone and Shapednoise selected their favorite track off from every record, joining them all together in chronological order. From their very first releases, to the inclusion of like-minded fellows such as Marcelus, AnD, Gaja, Violet…

He launched Yellow Year Records in 2013, and now he's announced 3 releases on Temporary Residence this year. So he's definitely off Warp? And why not release these through Yellow Year? Maybe that's meant for collaborations and such. Anyway, the Temporary Residence announcement just surprised me, I was expecting that he would still be releasing on Warp. Pt. 1 - Forsyth Gardens EP Pt. 2 - Rivington Nao Rio LP Pt. 3 - Every Color of Darkness EP No track lists or artwork released yet, just some teaser/promo videos. http://youtu.be/GrsW41t6Z9g http://youtu.be/tS647pmVrkA

August 28!!! 01 Levitation 02 Sparks 03 Space Song 04 Beyond Love 05 10:37 06 PPP 07 Wildflower 08 Bluebird 09 Days of Candy "In general, this record shows a return to simplicity, with songs structured around a melody and a few instruments, with live drums playing a far lesser role. With the growing success of Teen Dream and Bloom, the larger stages and bigger rooms naturally drove us towards a louder, more aggressive place; a place farther from our natural tendencies. Here, we continue to let ourselves evolve while fully ignoring the commercial context in which we exist." http://pitchfork.com/news/57120-beach-house-announce-new-album-depression-c…
