not sure how many people caught this post in the TH thread, i thought given how much this influenced the new album, it deserves its own thread so the max number of fans get to see it.

http://thecreatorsproject.vice.com/blog/neil-krug-board-of-canada-tomorrows-harvest “It shook a lot of people up, it's just exciting. I had a small thrill in my living room experiencing it all.” Music video director Neil Krug is talking about the release of Tomorrow's Harvest, the much anticipated album by Boards of Canada. Krug directed the two video releases, "Cosecha Signal One" and "Reach For The Dead," which were aired via a coded game of cat and mouse with fans on social media prior to the launch. “It's been like a top secret operation,” says Krug. “I don't know any other way to describe it other than unorthodox, in a very good way.” For Krug, Boards of Cana…

Believe it or not, this is not really a troll...but seriously, what a BoCtease. Most of the tracks feel like an intro to something that never comes. Maybe the next album? I think Sick Times is a really nice track, and Palace Posy is fun (though it cuts off too quickly). Rest I can take or leave. Also: melodies instead of sound effects, please. BoCpls. As a sidenote, what happened to their really grungy-sounding "secret weapon" synth, the one that could give them sounds like Track16SideB from random tracks tape? I don't know shit about synths - don't even know if those sounds were made by a synth - but I do know that fuzzy deep rich analog synth sound has …

What if this is a fake leak we're listening to and BOC is actually dead so Warp hired someone to make a fake album and sell it for money. That's why there's so much marketing and why the inserts are uncreative and the same as IABPOITC It doesn't seem real to me I keep thinking there will be a big JK message tomorrow and then the real album is released

BOC truly sells out
by Guest Araungzeb- 5 replies

If you thought auctioning those cassettes was a greedy cash grab, I've got some bad news for you. Looks like BOC have really done it this time. Instead of waiting to license out their songs to advertisements after they were released, they had to go ahead and sell the naming rights to the song titles. http://www.theposypalace.co.uk/ I mean I know they have families to feed, but come on. No wonder that song stuck out so much, their shadowy overlords at Warp had them throw it in to draw attention to their new corporate sponsor. I'm suddenly struck with the strange urge to buy flowers through... Maybe we can send them boc-uquets of posies as a gift for completing the n…

New Seeds = Audiotrack 14 A?
by Guest Araungzeb- 9 replies

Okay, so I posted this in the listening thread for TH, but I felt like this deserved its own topic. Does anyone else hear the similarity between the backing part of "New Seeds" and the main part of Audiotrack 14 A from Random 35 Track Tape? Obviously there's no YouTube link to New Seeds up yet, but in the meantime here's the other one: Let me know if you think I'm totally crazy or if you guys here this too

Ok, so this is more of a Twoism thread but I can't be arsed to register over there. But it occurred to me, I wonder if they did this just to see how well it works (how quickly clues are uncovered, how many people show up, is it manageable or not, etc). Would be quite interesting if this was just a test run for something more ambitious (ie., touring). Ok, pipe dream, but still...would love it if they came out of their shell and did more live stuff again. Their fans are all older now and pretty mellow I'm guessing (and the crazy ones are probably all locked up, heh). How about a group like BMSR, they tour and do a bunch of hole-in-the-wall places, right? BoC should…
