Thematically appropriate viewing alongside TH 1 2

Just a few that might suit TH quite well, off the top of my head: - The Andromeda Strain (1971) - The Omega Man (1971) - THX 1138 (1971) - Assault on Precinct 13 (1976) - Capricorn One (1977) - The Last Wave (1977) - Dawn of the Dead (1978) - Mad Max (1979) - Day of the Dead (1985) - The Quiet Earth (1985) - Prince of Darkness (1987) Any other worthy contenders I've missed?

The more interestingly/scenically/amusingly placed, the better. I may even be giving away a Warp-themed prize for the best entry... Otherwise, it's insta-fame over on the tumblr for all. Start snapping!

Saw this little show last night...it's a very, errr, pertinent exhibition, given the nature of Tomorrow's Harvest and all the attendant interviews the Sandisons have given about the meaning(s) behind the LP. Lovely stuff and well worth a look. Bought the wee book which was a snip at £10... <END MESSAGE>

I got the digital download as soon as it was available. All good ;-) But I'm still waiting on my CD from Bleep. Admittedly I'm way off in Australia. But I thought it might have made it here by now. Oh well. Will just have to wait a bit longer I guess.

For anyone interested in the REAL Trans-Canada Highway...
by Guest Araungzeb- 21 replies

So my friend and I have always wanted to do some sort of road trip, and on June 9th we left from Maine to do a two-week trip along the entire Trans-Canada Highway to Vancouver and back. We're currently at the Pacific Ocean getting ready to head back, but I've been keeping a photo/video blog of the trip to chronicle the journey (it's currently a few days behind because it takes forever to upload things on iffy wifi connections at McDonalds/Tim Hortons). I figured that since the TCH is part of the boards mythos and that most people will never get a chance to actually see it that some of you might be interested in seeing what it's like. So here: http://transcanadaexpress…

Guys, this track sounds amazing. Some great BOC synths swirling about. They seem to have nailed yet another lead in track. [youtubehd]NvOWoS_RuTY[/youtubehd]

Has anyone noticed that each album has a running audible theme? My brother and I think that each album (so far) is based on an element. For example: MHRTC is Air, having the quality of dust motes floating in the sun, Geogaddi is Fire, sounding like the vinyl is scratched and producing a crackling, and TCH is Water, sounding like undulating waves (not to mention the actual use of water samples). I'm sorry if this has been brought up before, I did search the forum first.

New Seeds
by Guest Mr Eff- 19 replies

Listened to new seeds a few times. The main synth riff sounds like it could be a guitar or bass driving a synthesizer through a cv gate in. Not sure if this is the case (I have not messed around with gate in/out a whole lot), but it might be worth trying out to get some cool sounds. Going to try and re create it with the mini brute later on. One of my favorite songs on the album in the first few listens.

I don't normally start these kind of topics... but Come to Dust, especially the chord progression from about 2:19, reminds me a lot of this: [youtubehd]iaG_z2RSRNI[/youtubehd]

I don't think I've ever seen such an over exposed electronic album and that includes Daft Punk! Every magazine or internet ad seems to have something about Tomorrow's Harvest this or new BoC that and that's before all the facebook leaky peeky stuff. I do like BoC but I'm not a fanatic and I'm in no rush especially after the meh soundlclips I've heard so far however I feel peer pressure is putting me off somewhat as I hate feeling like a sheep. This is one hell of promo campaign.

like you're an archivist who is wandering a post apocalyptic wasteland... we find sound. sound make ear good, why? we use the magic discs and sound. first sound is sad... there is second sound on same circle. not as sad third circle is like when father sing old songs. second sound is like when my dog sleeps and has bad thoughts. it goes into silence and sleep.

So yeah. Part of the local record shop preorders. Turns out they don't yield any extras and the code isn't even for a download of the album...or anything. So yeah. A memento? A pseudo-business card? I didn't get a poster from my record store eithern and my card isn't even sealed properly, there's a little bubble on each side. I'm a little baffled, a little miffed. Unless that is, this ends up being a building access code to the S4 underground hanger at Papoose lake or something. I'm using to cover up my more beat-up world pop cassette tapes that don't have a pretty j-card insert. Anyone else displaying it in any fashion? Anyone simply throw them away?

One thing that always impresses me about BoC is their choice of fonts on their album covers. Does anyone know if there is a good list of which fonts they use and who chose them?
