Ok, so this is more of a Twoism thread but I can't be arsed to register over there. But it occurred to me, I wonder if they did this just to see how well it works (how quickly clues are uncovered, how many people show up, is it manageable or not, etc). Would be quite interesting if this was just a test run for something more ambitious (ie., touring). Ok, pipe dream, but still...would love it if they came out of their shell and did more live stuff again. Their fans are all older now and pretty mellow I'm guessing (and the crazy ones are probably all locked up, heh). How about a group like BMSR, they tour and do a bunch of hole-in-the-wall places, right? BoC should…

boc has been an ever-present force in many of our lives, so i think it would be fitting to share stories that will inspire us to stay true to boc until june 10th. here's one to start (some of you may have already seen this one, but i think it's a good topic starter in any case). One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with BoC. Scenes from his life flashed across the sky and he noticed three sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to him and the other two to BoC. When the last scene of his life had flashed before him, he recalled that at the lowest and saddest times of his life there was only one set of footprints. Dismayed, he asked,…

I can appreciated BoC's stuff post-Geogaddi - I like TCH a lot - but much of it feels so carefully crafted and controlled, it's a bit off-putting. A bit stale. The new TH stuff feels the same to me. So today I've been going back and listening to a lot of their rocking live-only tracks. Remember when they could rock out with a funky jam? How about these gems... Warp Lighthouse: 7:57: Funkyyyyyy! Warp 10th: 32:45: perhaps the best unreleased track known to man ATP: First two tracks are two of my favorite of their minimal ones. 29:27 is another great funky jam...Goddamn! C'mon BoC, let your hair down, release the funky jams. Enough of always…

The twenty fifth of November 2002 sees Warp release Boards of Canada’s seminal ‘Twoism’. Remastered and recut, this nine track mini album will be available on CD for the first time, seven years after it’s original, semi-mythical pressing on Boards of Canada’s own label Music70. Their esoteric release, limited to an exclusive hundred copies on vinyl, made it a most sought after contemporary item, copies being known to change hands for 800 pounds on-line. I'm starting to think it won't happen, and I actually don't want it to. I'm planning to listen to it for the first time with a good friend and BoC fanatic in NYC. It would be a nice mini vacation for me, and I really need it actually. Not interesting for any of you, and it's no big deal. Just wondering if Warp can hold off? Or in the age of the internets, will an early release be a necessity?

Boards of Canada don't give us answers. They haven't done for years. But if you could ask them a question, any question at all, what would it be? Just post them here, or . It's just for fun, really. Something to pass the time before whatever happens. Hell, we might even get a word or two from mdg if we're lucky. 1. (obvious) Will you ever release anything again? 2. Do the old cassette releases (Catalog 3, Acid Memories, Play By Numbers etc.) actually exist? They date back to before 1994, which is when the band claim to have started using the name 'Boards of Canada'. It seems physical copies of these releases are so rare, they've never been leaked or even dis…
