Any other school counselors in the House??

Mr Mackey!

j/k

you’re doing God’s work. And it’s a dirty job to boot. Occasionally rewarding, I’d imagine.

Mon-Fri, 9-5, as a digital manager in a record label company. One of the biggest in our country, but keep in mind this is Slovenia, so we still only have 11 people in the firm. I'm not particulary interested in my work or in the artists we have and it's slowly eating away my youth&energy and the money is so-so, but still, you gotta eat so what can you do.

On the other hand, I've also started doing music for the theatre in the past year and a half. The money is great, the creativity is great, the process is hard but rewarding. I would love to leave my day-job for this, but I'm to afraid to pull the trigger, because I've only been working with one director for now (4 plays for now) and if things'd get sour between us, I'd be dead.

I envy those who can live off art! I chronically miss music cause I rarely have time and energy for it. It’s not the same as being completely in it and occasionally doing it! When I really have time (several complete days) for music production is the time that i feel alive the most even though I mostly like my work/career.

Two Scrabble opponents have each played the word "job" as their last move against me.  Between this thread and those Scrabble plays I feel like there's a message in there somewhere.  Possibly I need to sign up for a Scrabble tournament and live off my winnings.

This was the last time my workplace made the papers

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7994889/Rapist-attacked-kidnapped-schoolgirl-16-begs-mercy-inmates-force-strip.html

We make the papers a LOT. When I started there it was all over the papers that it was gonna be shut down because it's a vermin infested and crumbling shit hole. That was 13 years ago.

The tasks I do are pretty varied. Yesterday I escorted 6 men around the prison grounds to sweep up and empty all the bins. They are all sex offenders/paedophiles.

Sometimes I do extra curricular shit, like this video which will be playing on the information channel on the in-cell televisions to promote a charity scheme:

Wow ...

But I have to ask: should you be doxxing yourself like this? The people I know IRL who work with the interned and the disturbed are very careful about guarding their personal information. Or do the people where you work not have internet connections?

I've been self-employed for five years now, and there's hardly been a day I haven't worked in that time, be it weekend or holidays, always playing catch-up with some deadline, but I really like what I do, working from home is just great, and I can digitize my music collection in the process, so yeah, I like my job.

still receptionist in the same retirement home since the last thread of this kind. what can i say? it pays the rent, albeit barely. working hours are all over the place, mostly late shifts, tho.

shouldn't be all too exciting in the near future. i feel bad for our residents, lots are socially distanced anyway.

I procrastinate until about a week b4 a deadline, then get stoned. That instigates enough fear to act. Writing = sober, cos who the fk can edit anything on edibles.

A local mental health charity where we’ve been helping with dozens and dozens of skewiff care-plans, ptsd clients who continually relapse because of inept supervision & treatment, and instances of institutional incompetence too varied to list individually here, lost out on its annual funding bid recently. Not to shit on the NHS, but jfc. Fragmented services? Call 111.

This means more days waste deep in flooded excavation trenches, which is fun but doesn’t effect the kind of change advocacy does. Premature arthritis ahoy.

I can tell you ppl... this is the greatest time to be a medical doctor! Especially when your employer doesn’t care for your safety as it should!

“Surgical masks?! Nah they’re totally fine, if you can fine them”
“What? Protecting glasses?! Lol”
