What are your creative goals for 2024?

Having been a lurker on watmm for quite sometime, I thought it best to start a thread to get a feel for this community. 
 

That being said, what are your creative goals for 2024?

To understand the tools I use profoundly and achieve exactly what I want. I used to be limited by the "annoyance" of learning a new tool, but I've found a new way to do it and it is working.

Learn a bit of theory to put into practice, stuff like progressions, modulations, so when I write music, I come at it from a different angle than just jamming.

I've been thinking for a while about setting myself some rules to compose rather than just noodling. Make all my drums in 6/4. Use the microtonal scale which I mapped 12 notes of a keyboard to 12 equal divisions of a perfect 5th.

To invent some spare time for music production. Finally! …hopefully

When I was much younger I thought ok, ok… I’ll finish all those schools and colleges, ill have enough money and security and I’ll have the time for music but older i get less time i have to the point it’s almost impossible to have enough time to concentrate on music!  I have everything now, except the needed time for music

as for my 2024 goals:

• i'm hoping to release some of the stacks of music i've recorded over the last 2-3 years that haven't made their way out yet.
• i'm hoping to write and record more music.
• i'm hoping to consolidate/weed out some of the sprawl of gear i've got.
• i'm hoping to try blogging a bit on my site about music explorations that i don't see others really discussing.
• i'm hoping to share some of those ideas in video as well when that makes sense.
• i'm hoping to try my hand at writing some fiction (but i've said that for 10+ years to no avail yet).
• i'm hoping to try out some more digital art techniques/photo manipulation.
• i'd like to start trying out some woodworking/crafts/etc. but not holding my breath on this being the year i start that.

what's your goals?

Same here so much! I still don't understand the drum seq in Live. 

I have cleaned up alot so I will be focusing on Ableton. I have my free update to Live 12 and after that I will be reading more, watching more Youtube etc..

I would like to get all my recording equipment setup.  I've been jamming daily since covid started and having a great time.  I really miss the recording/editing/mastering process and want to do something in 2024

6/4? why not 11/8, 7/8, 5/8, 14/8? 6/4 is pretty basic imo...
