The Saint's Row games are like if Grand Theft Auto and Just Cause had children... that rode the short bus to school.

now you got me interested

Started dead rising 2 last night. fucking loading screen every few seconds it feels like and whilst i accept that my short attention span is to blame i feel like other games don't have this disruption. its not even cutscenes (which usually piss me off no end) but just when running from one room to the next. otherwise i think it could be a fun zombie massacre

I have no idea how that game gets so much praise.

I tried Dead Rising 2 but it fell so slow and clunky. I got sick of running around like an old man. A few hours in I had to do a shitty escort quest, somehow "lost" the game and never touched it again.

I'm going to try out Saints Row 3. Never played a Saints Row game and the PC port looks decent this time. I love GTA/Just Cause/Mafia type games but their sense of humour seems a bit over the top.

on the 2nd to last level in super meat boy. right after getting the key there is this jump but a buzz saw right at the corner. fairly certain I need to wall jump but its a difficult maneuver. doesn't help that it's at the very end.. I could probably play through most of it blind with how many times I've ran it

just started playing uplink from the humble introversion bundle, it is a hacking simulator and it is a lot of fun.

Uplink's really cool, hard though - I always ended up getting traced and not knowing why.

also dungeons of dredmor, holy shit is it fun, highly recommended, even if you don't play roguelikes it is pretty entertaining.

Also, Dredmor's OK, but I only really got one afternoon of fun out of it. It's a great training-wheels roguelike for people who aren't familiar with the genre, but it lacks depth - you can't even attack or move diagonally, which seems nuts to me. What's more, the art/animation style rubbed me up the wrong way. I think I'd just prefer ASCII graphics.

At first I thought it looked overly cluttered and simplified, but I actually think it is kind of cool. I've had an ascii roguelike overload lately and have been enjoying games that boil that formula down to the basics while still being fun.

There's a demo of Rage on XBL. I tried it earlier today and I couldn't get into it. It looks wonderful and the framerate is great but finding my way around the small town you start out in was a pain in the ass because there's no map (at least I couldn't find one). I didn't even get to the action part before I quit the demo.

I'm not 100% sure if there is one when you're in the Wasteland but as far as I remember the lack of a map was one of the the big complaints in Giant Bomb's review.
