Hi WATMM... I'm sure this looks awful spammy and it IS but...I know a lot of people recently really enjoyed my big split with Mrs Jynx and Fieldtriqp, and since this is related I hope it doesn't piss everyone off to have it posted in the Music Discussion forum. Anyway it's a brand new braindance label with a fresh new release of mine under the name Phe_. 40 mins of melodic ambient techno goodness along the lines of Polygon Window, Cylobian Sunset, Bochum Welt, that sorta thang, and 40 mins of remix work by such braindance champions as Wisp, Mrs Jynx and EOD, as well as Casio Commander, David Tagg, Night Sequels and UK DJ Simon Meredith! I'm really proud of this re…

I've been jamming Quones for the last week or so and it has reminded me of how much I love Goon. Vatican /Nitez is fucking classic, as is my hand numbered copy of PURE ROCK. And Family Glue is absolutely incredible. I'm gonna have to go dig out my collection and listen through it.Give us some goon love! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYU_ZQ88nzQ [media] [media]

I've done this thread before. I'm preparing to begin a lifetime half-career as a live performer/DJ. I figured I would start a thread on WATMM for this kind of music and for us to discuss... what's going on out there in the world?! mixes, techno, bass music, etc... my first interest is this "Work Them" track by Ramadanman. it's not as 'new' as it was a few weeks ago but it's still great. as you can tell i don't know what the hell i'm doing/talking about regarding the DJ world and clubs... I'm looking forward to learning though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYFYAa8iOBg

I'm so addicted, it's really unhealthy. Any recommendations? Based music is the only genre that rivals IDM IMO, I'd love some good albums to listen to in between Lil B albums.

There this track, Limit Cycle on this manga thing called "Genius Party" or something. Never saw that movie. Its a long track, classic Fennesz style (so its bloody good) but totally impossible to track down. Only available on Flac via that torrent thing that i cannot access. So, if anyone has it on Flac, please DO NOT contact me via PM. Thanks :-)

is anyone here familiar with an electronic artist by the name of Casey Collier? he released some stuff under that name, some as beta, some as n/a, some as buug, and some as H.U.D. i originally ordered an album/sampler from him (which was just a burnt cd) that was all his own material under these various pseudonyms. it was from his website/'label' called 0.08_nix (i think the site was izcom.com/008_nix or something similar). well i ended up downloading a bunch of his other stuff that he put up for free downloads before he took the site down, most under his (assumed) real name. one album of it was a collaboration with a 'Bo Fader', and i think there were a couple of oth…

Cutting edge genres are captivating because they are new to just about everyone's ears. New tracks almost an exploration into the unknown and hold exciting prospects for the future of music in general. With the advent of the internet and self promotion the lifetimes of these genres have been significantly reduced, and in some cases such as drum and bass the genre is exploited by people who value fame and touring over the production and interest in the music itself, leading to a stasis in the progression and exploitation of familiar mechanics. It does not help that a lot of these genres are electronic and infused into the club culture which already puts them at a evolution…

Forgetting about everything you know about music and music politics and whatnot, what songs make you feel it's absolutely imperative that you must dance and move about? I'm really curious as to what people put. (apologies if this has been done recently, I couldn't find a similar thread) A few of mine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CLCm-wnPhI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKbLI8EufNo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KtVslRdWWQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPZpn_pVGao http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyEt2xUM18Q http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjce_ETz9fU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1i3jsDggHY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Op6Hlzxth3Y(past the annoying i…

Yup. Including the seminal Midsummer Nice Dream, all of Ochre's albums have been released on bandcamp for the chiefly sum of - whatever you want. That includes zero. Nice time to grab them: http://ochre.bandcamp.com More on Chris's blog here: http://ochremusic.com/2011/02/03/name-your-price/ Not new releases I know, but certainly a new price and delivery format. And an extremely generous one.
