wow...was that actual gameplay? this looks amazing@

Well a lot of it appears to be cutscenes using the engine and 'Press X to not die' QTE. It looks good sure but possibly not as revolutionary gameplay wise as the trailer makes out it to be.

its deffinatly not anything revolutionary. but its not a 'Press X to not die' game. that trailer is actually pretty awful at showing the game. the presentation they did at E3 was way better.

Anyone on cs go beta? The hit boxes are ridiculous, i've emptied full clips into enemies not more than 20 feet away, and still not kill them. I like the map revamps, but I'm not so sure about the source physics. Still really fun to play. Add me on steam: tontonz@mizzou

Aye my apologies - If I return from a heavy night out instead of tutypyingg lllioke trghis I end up having rather strong dismissive opinions about things (well, more so than usual  ). Yeah I'm sure it'll be better than the trailer makes out - the BitSocket boys gave it a glowing response when they went to E3 for a full preview, and I generally trust their opinion.

gonna take a break from FNV and maybe play a little bit more of Skyrim where I left off...or maybe some Ass Creed Bros. for fond memories.

I was considering getting Dawnguard for a while, but I was sorta POed that there wasn't any sort of level expansion/perk expansion. Im a completist at heart...I like working forever to get an invincible beast-character, so the original only allowing you to cover half of the skill tree drives me nuts.

Ah, so sony japan still do make games do they? Well until they finish The Last Guardian they can get lost.

Actually Rain does sound pretty good, and I know it is a different team, not their fault

Latest word on TLG is they had to bring in Western developers to "redo" parts of the game - the biggest thing I'm sensing from Japan-made game (granted, this does not apply to all of them) is there absolutely no QA (Quality Assurance) throughout the project - they develop a system or engine for a game that is highly flawed, and proceed to release the game regardless. It also seems the Japanese developers don't have the programming skills equivalent to what most Western developers seem to have. Quite a change from the 80-90's when Japan was making superior games (for the most part) and the West was struggling to emulate the goodness coming out of Japan. Now it seems the opposite is true.

i'm fucking dying for the PC release of dark souls, flawed as it is.

Those fuckers can't be arsed to hire some people to do a half decent port. Fuckers... 30FPS cap and 90's laptop resolution. Fuk dat.

Return of the Neo Geo!

Yeah, I've known about this for some time - bit pricey for 90's games you can get for almost any platform.

SNK needs to get on the HD remake bandwagon and start working on Metal Slug HD or Last Resort HD for modern consoles.

In other news, I finally got the Platinum on Dead Space - it only took me 2 years of on/off playing. Next up is the trophies for Metal Gear Solid 4, then crack into Dead Space 2 (hopefully it will come out for free on PSN+ like it supposedly is going to in the UK)

I've loved the Assassin's Creed series up until now. Revelations is the worst one so far. That fucking tower defense game they've implemented is fucking terrible and ridiculously difficult. How on Earth are you supposed to beat that tank? I remember something about an catapult during the tutorial, but I don't know how to get access to that?

Congrats on the DS plat. The MGS4 plat is reeeeeaaaaaaallllllyyyy hard. Not only do you need the Big Boss emblem, you need to acquire EVERY SINGLE EMBLEM POSSIBLE! Minimum playthroughs = 8!!! I'm just gonna grab what trophies I can for now. I'll attempt the Big Boss run another time. I want to get back into F:NV soon.

I also heard recently that Sony abandoned the "The Last Guardian" trademark. Though they said the game is still in development.

Certainly the lack of programming skills has been a major factor this generation for Japanese devs. Dark Souls PC looks to be another example.

I feel like the jump from the last generation to this one was just too big for them. Nintendo in the main had no problems making games for the Wii, but the HD twins is another story.

Also, there has been a big shift in focus from console games to handheld games in Japan.

In the case of Team Ico, I think their team was too small to pull off a title with the ambition of TLG especially when they needed to learn new hardware at the same time.

Why the fuck is The Legend Of Zelda: Wind Waker so expensive? Can't find it locally to buy, so I hop online and all the used copies on Amazon and eBay are all $40 plus

What gives...

i was about to find one and prove you wrong, but damn your right! i never knew that. but really, its cause a bunch of people think that just cause it has Zelda in the title they can sell it at ridiculous amounts. don't buy any of them. youll stumble upon it new for around 20 bucks or used around 10 at some store. just keep looking.

that and the fact that you can find them for free too.

But not legally free - otherwise that would apply to just about anything, right?

If you don't mind a bit of piracy, the Dolphin Emulator and a torrent of Wind Waker would satisfy your Zelda urges... it can even scale the game up to near HD resolution and other neat effects.

Yeah, it's pretty common, although GameCube games are getting more and more scarce at stores...
