it'd be cool if they created a bond who was sort of like a Robocop-Tetsuo Iron Man-Terminator mash-up, who was smooth with the ladies but would then drill them to death with his drill dick, and slaughter criminals and civilians indiscriminately with excessive force.

um, not sure I thought about it more than that. he'd have a drill. for a dick.

bond is sort of a tragic figure anyway right? so he'd be macking on some fit bird, and they'd go back to his place and start making out when suddenly "BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR" she'd be turned into hamburger and he'd give a brief heavenward "why does this always happen to me?" and then go fix himself a motor-oil martini

I'd like a James Bond film where Peter Mullan goes to eat lunch with a couple of informants every now and then and spends most of the film wanking and drinking whiskey martini. No action or tension whatsoever, just him being bored shitless and getting drunk.

I'd like to see a James Bond film where Bond is half way through having a nervous breakdown and spends the majority of the film crying in the shower (wearing cutoffs) and ignoring calls from M.

hotel transilvania - up until they

introduced a socal dude archetype

latest bond - couldn't watch the last 20 minutes or so. Felt like i was being qat on, slowly, by someone that likes that sort of thing.

sinister - couldn't watch more than the first 20-30 ... was too dire. Went to the wiki page and found out what happened instead. Cool movie, though. I just can't watch that qit.

i like robo bond. actually we could do the stringer bell bond. call it "word is bond, yo" and have the poster resemble one of those photoshopped gangster rap album covers with idris elba's head copy pasted onto a tux. splash "wordisbondyo.com" under that. directed by the hughes brothers.

Porco Rosso is probably the most romantic anime I have ever seen and probably one of the more touching stories anyhow.

Just finished this. 9/10, great movie!!! Thank you.

how about a bond film where five candidates compete for the new bond role. after selecting the winner the film follows the four losers who become bonds enemies in the film. it can be called "4 non bonds"

In Bruges (2008)
Checked out after you guys talkin about it, was pretty cool. Sound track was worst part, totally awful most of the time in the film.

Mishima A Life in Four Chapters (1985)
Probably one of my favorite movies now! Soundtrack done right, flawless execution.
The set design in this makes me wet my pants so hard.

The Yakuza (1974)
Schrader has his hands in this too, but not as much.
A little rough, slow, too simple. for 74 though decent immersion into Japan for American audience, the fight scenes do deliver.

LA Confidential (1997)
Fuck yes, Guy Pearce = mega borner in this. Every one does a pretty flawless job. Top notch.

Hard Eight (1996)
Paul Thomas Anderson's first full length. John C Reilly is adorable as usual, made me want to chain smoke. Cool film about the people you see at casino's that make you feel uncomfortable about casino's.

Just edit together two hours of footage from the old films & give it a new soundtrack (something groovy & improvisational), call it Jazz Bond

Bitches Bond. Initially contraversial, but changed the course of Bond history and its maverick spirit and influence are still felt today.

i loved Hard Eight, one of my favorite PTA films. The only thing i didn't like about it was the 'twist' about why the guy was mentoring him the whole time. I just really liked the atmosphere of the movie, more than the story itself.

I was a fan of Spirited Away as a kid and I decided to watch some of Miyazaki's other movies this weekend, like My Neighbor Totoro and Kiki's Delivery Service, but I kept feeling grossly underwhelmed. Like Spirited Away, the plots feel... off. Someting about them isn't satisfying and some of the characters' behaviors confuse or annoy me. (Although I was totally enthralled by the atmosphere and the setting execution of Kiki's Delivery Service, whose plot also satisfied me much more than Spirited)

But then I watched Mononoke Hime, and WOW. What a fantastic movie. Definitely going in my top 10. The characters are extremely relatable for me and I really just identify with the movie all around. Great movie, would love to see more like this if anyone can recommend anything.

do yourself a favor and check out 'Pom Poko', (if you haven't already) it's not a Miyazaki, but it is Studio Ghibli

powerful powerful film, changed my life...or at least it had a vast impact on me

I just finished watching this, but I have to say, it was a bit disappointing. Sure it was funny, but I feel like the message was better told in Princess Mononoke, it wasn't so ham-fisted. Now watching Nausicaa.
