Will BOC Release A New Album?

I wouldn't be surprised if it's another few years before an album. I think after the long wait between TH and TCH there was perhaps a feeling that they would perhaps move up a few gears in productivity. But the reverse has happened. Its fine. Hey another few years of abounding with silliness on the BOC New Album thread suits me fine. I'm trying to catch a few record breaking fish the last few years. That's my lifetime hobby and one I do well. New BOC come second to angling all day long.

I'm not ashamed to say that I'm a bit obessive of BoC and am desperate to hear what they've been working on, and I think about it to a probably unhealthy level, BUT...

I was listening to Geogaddi this weekend and thought to myself, even if they are done and we're just not aware yet, what a special gift we have in Geogaddi specifically. It could've been the only album they released and I'd be happy. Of course I'm in love with the rest of their catalog but Geogaddi is such a comprehensive trip of an album. It just doesn't get much better. Alot of artists strive their entire careers to make something as special.

I doubt they are done and I do think an album is coming, maybe next year. I just felt really content this weekend, it's been a while since I've felt that way about their music. A flawless discography and an arguement could be made for any of their LPs that it's their masterpiece.

Crossposting from twoism dot com this is 100% true information

it's 2023. the brothers have fully grown children, 35-40yrs old now. they're taking over some of the production duties in the THS studio space. mike plays depressing flute melodies and spends months recording them back and forth between two old handheld tape recorders. he's been doing this sometimes for entire years and has spent multiple months listening to the results: nothing but fuzz. marcus is playing synths by hand, not using a sequencer. he has been playing a gorgeous, heartbreaking melodies (at night) and has been slowly fading them out. one particular melody has been fading for 11 years. it's rather difficult to hear at this point. but it is felt. tears have even been provoked by what to outsiders must sound like total silence. the BOC children are charged with keeping up the appropriate levels of dust. the studio must absolutely be drenched in dust so that all sounds are old and aged. however, too much dust is annoying. marcus has made an acoustic version of all previous BOC albums using just a drum set. including unreleased material he has now done 500 albums just doing this. michael ("mike") has discovered old tunes vols 3-312 and has released them only to a handful of friends, associates, and those affiliated with THS. one of the children has done MHTRTC "children" version. the brothers saw a 1 (one) second clip from an early 80s vhs ident/logo and have spent 2 years recreating it perfectly, not only using the exact same equipment but also recreating the entire movie itself with the same actors from the original. the brothers played all the parts for the actors who are deceased. this will never be released. there are only a handful of copies, distributed to close friends at campfires and "red moon gatherings." they have amassed an impressive library of volumes pertaining to the occult, conspiracies, and social collapse scenarios and they have made soundtracks to every single one of these books. the albums will never be released. this is just something they felt like doing. marcus made BOC versions of all the sesame street puppets and the brothers are currently recreating every single sesame street episode but with BOC music and animation done by BOC. they are presently filming season 9. these will never be released, they are done for the sole viewing pleasure of their grandchildren.

new album forthcoming.

I'm glad to see that 10 years later some things never change and Alcofribas is still hilarious.

The day they release something might never come. I never post around these parts because we just have nothing to work with when it comes to answering OPs question in the title. I rarely listen to BoC bc I want to keep the music special. In case nothing new ever comes out I won't be tired of the existing albums.

Whatever ends up happening im here for it!

Even Twoism is now done. The speculation thread has literally squeezed every last drop of energy from them and they are spent. Which is impressive work from BOC as I thought that was impossible. Hats off to Twoism for putting in years and years of work and enthusiasm. Now it's over to Hexagon Sun. Surely next year. However we've been saying that for  3 years...

Funny that you mention it - I went there as well some weeks ago and most of the forum is dry. I guess this maniacal search for micro hints and riddle solving just got old during the pandemic.

There is also a lot of other great music currently but I still really like to listen to them on mdma afterglow. Really feels like the music was made for this

I think the mistake people make is when they officially signal activity (not pussy likes on social media) like black box placeholder for TH or Pioneer thing on Hell Interface, folks think it's gonna be a few months for a new album when it's actually gonna be a few years. I'm not sure why they (BOC) do this. Maybe it means the project is pretty much wrapped up, and then they and close friends live with it for a few years (I'm sure they have said they do this) and just make minor tweaks to the finished mix. Something like that.
