New album, out on Perc Trax in late April. While the album is described as more focused on the dance floor than previous LPs, it also recalls "the sound of early electro-acoustic experimentation," while live instrumentation is employed more than on any prior Perc record. (According to Resident Advisor.)

I'd never heard anything from this artist until recently. A great compilation that evokes BOC old tunes, The Advisory Circle, Keith Seatman, Belbury Poly - you know the kind of vibe on here. This guy has created a lot of music that needs unearthing. New album on Planet Mu in March. According to the label it's their "most introspective and abstracted work so far. It still pulses with the muscle memory of house and disco... but it takes a line of flight away from songs, immersing the listener in a gently invigorating space."

Out on ECM in March. Maybe too high-brow for some. But Arve's trumpet playing is always magical...

Mr Betke plays around with a couple of synthesizer sounds made by late Tangerine Dream-member Schnitzler. Out on Bureau B on March 31. Betke's description of this album: "I myself use four things: a modified old rhythm machine, two old synthesizers, and my modular system. From Schnitzler come four complex sounds, which are always run through a modular patch. Coincidence should play an important role. Then I sent everything through my mixer - for dubbing. It worked almost automatically. His sounds led and I joined in."

Out on Kranky in February. New York-via-San Francisco artist Jacob Long makes atmospheric dub techno and ambient music as Earthen Sea. Some of you guys likes his previous album "Mirage".

Classic 90s Ambient Techno reissued. Bleep: Epic ambience from Heavenly Music Corporation, originally recorded for a Japanese ambient radio station that plays music 24 hours a day and is programmed around current tidal movements. Basically it ticks all the right boxes and is a huge 'recommended' from all here. Somewhat of a forgotten champion of the 90s ambient scene, Kim Cascone also worked as assistant music editor for the surrealist films of David Lynch. Taking his HMC moniker from the Fripp & Eno collaboration, the project began after his industrial-tinged group Poison Gas Research began to break away in the early 1990s. Lunar Phase was conceived …

1. Beat 'em 2. Deflatine Dance 3. Cool is Bunk 4. Escape from South Shore 5. Ear Candy for Egoists 6. Referential Zombie 7. Bomb the '80s http://meatbingo.bandcamp.com/ This release supposedly comes from Neil Scriven, close friend of fellow nostalgic samplist VHS Head. I'm becoming a big fan of the sound the Blackpool boys are creating. The release date says 2010, but I definitely haven't crossed this before in my travels so maybe it has only been posted recently...

The ever brilliant Ekster imprint follow-up the now classic Be Me album with We Never Happened, the second entry for the imprint from the 3D club deconstructionist Ssaliva. Twelve tracks that contain his most dynamic transmissions to date. Carrying its influence within the lineage of early Autechre, but the moments when they were at their most melodic (think the stunning piano remix of Bola's 2002 hit Chamchimzee for an idea of where Ssaliva's heads at). The sounds within We Never Happened bristle with the DNA of Arca, Logos, Amnesia Scanner & J.G.Biberkopf's finest moments. In keeping with his Ekster label mates TCF, Hiele & that brilliant library LP from DMX K…

1. Concerning The Explorers 25:26 2. Super-Individual 23:05 3. The Dialectic 21:49 You wait ages for a new Slomo album … and then one comes along. Following a rare spate of gigs in 2012-2013, Slomo now present their fourth album ‘Transits’, a distillation of the intervening years’ spontaneous improvisations for time and space. ‘Transits’ finds the duo of Holy McGrail and Howard Marsden further psychedelicising their core guitar/synth drone sound with loops, bit-crushers and ring modulators to deliver three shimmering celestial pieces for frozen night skies. ‘Transits’ features artwork by acclaimed Texas-based artist Xochi Solis and sleeve notes from the Sp…
