From BoingBoing: Guess which egomaniac said the following - answers below: "Nothing in life is promised except death." "No sense makes sense." "I'm like a machine. I'm a robot. You cannot offend a robot." "I can't judge any of you. I have no malice against you and no ribbons for you. But I think that it is high time that you all start looking at yourselves, and judging the lie that you live in." "One day the light will shine through, and one day people will understand everything I ever did." "Everything I’m not made my everything I am." "The real strong have no need to prove it to the phonies." "I am not a fan of books. I would never want a book's autograph. I am…

I thought this was fascinating, it really examines the sexual roles we force on children as a society, when a lot of them have no sexual identity yet. Yes, there are probably some LGBT people into this as a way to escape persecution and bullying they receive in their every day lives, but most are just lonely and out of place teens looking for something to belong to. (better this than Juggalos right?) I thought it was sweet how they come together to support each other, and welcome the traditional female fans of the franchise as well. John De Lancie is great, narrating, singing, and doing some interviews. http://www.bronydoc.com/

I only wear blank, single color shirts. Most of them I get at H&M, but I've tried GAP a while ago. It's horrible. Even though I always get the same size, they vary in size so much! 90% get too short after a few washes. I'm 6'3 and pretty skinny. Does anybody have any good (online) source of quality AND LONG ENOUGH t-shirts?

There's probably been another thread like this, but since even google search returns nothing, well Friday morning fun. Over the past few days I've been reading a lot of stuff about cyber security (not the deep technical aspect of it, more how it relates to policy making blah blah). Anyways, it struck me how eerily prescient Gibson's description of a virus attack in Neuromancer was. Reading on how stuxnet interacted with Iranian nuclear facilities, and how they identified when to work, how they replicated etc, it was very similar I felt to the description given in Neuromancer when Case is doing his hack. With the rise of deeplearning, will we see more and more exploits …

Seriously, it seems to me like most people have no curiosity at all. They'll just watch whatever shows are on Netflix, listen to whatever music their friends show them...basically just taking what ever comes to them and never actually digging into something. This always happens whenever TV shows come up at work. No one wants to even speculate about where the plot's going never mind offer any opinion on the show besides 'it's good/bad yeah'. Often when I start expressing an opinion they won't even answer. It just seems that as soon as you bring up anything that requires an original thought the majority of people run far, far away. The thing is that this really colo…

"Jesus Christ was the messiah. WWI and WWII was the Jewish holocaust done against 100 million Christian innocent victims. Jews are all liars. No jew is a victim. Devil Jews. Lucifer's friends. Jews will do more genocide against us soon. Jews: genocidal murderers and slanderers of innocent Christians. 2000 years of persecution by Jews against the innocent goyim. Jew, Jesus Christ was the messiah. Your anti christ messiah will be a genocidal devil for certain." .... "By the way, Jew, what is Metatron? What will you do when people understand Metatron?" In addition to his years-long sparadic rants popping in and out of threads demonizing Je…

Employers are asking more and more from their employees, burnouts have become a common phenomenon, stress is part of everyday life, salaries can't catch up on the cost of life, social benefits are a luxury, etc. Is it just me or do employers want the most perfect and devoted employee and that employee won't receive much in return? I have a feeling that jobs with security and good conditions are very rare or exclusive to certain professions. I remember people saying countless times "you'll see when baby boomers will retire and there will be plenty of new jobs available". From my experience, when someones retires or quits in a workplace, his tasks are simply distrib…

Thought this may be of interest to fans of Chris Cunningham's similar style of body horror work... From the Guardian - Can Pekdemir does virtual experiments that push the human skeleton to the limit. Using 3D modelling software, he makes headshot portraits then twists and deforms the bone structure of the head and neck out of all proportion. Prepare to be appalled

Ok so over May Bank Holiday weekend I saw a load of Morris dancing, played "Aunt Sally", and wanted to go see the cheese rolling but couldn't make it over. Prepare for LOL and also a painful ending.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMd4kPnQ0DE Apparently it is no longer a proper cheese wheel due to health and safety, they use a foam version of a cheese because it rolls a bit slower and is less likely to concuss you if it hits you. Still, proper carnage. One of the winners this year flew over from the states to take part, hardcore. Aunt Sally is an Oxfordshire based pub game where you have to knock a ball off a spike (a bit like that coconut game) alt…

Dear Mr Brian Dance, I am very sorry that I used a bad word in my first post to you here on internet, it was harsh and uncalled for. I was using the word mostly because I'm very excited about the possibririty of a new Aphex album. I hope I did not drive you away from WATMM because WATMM is good. The mods are good too even when they are Australian. I trust this heartfelt apology will discharge my social debt and satisfy those people I offended with the "F word". Sincerely, Andy Stephen Edit: edited for accuracy, spelled my name wrong the first time.

Saw it this weekend - very cute movie, typical Pixar (when Pixar does it right). Only thing that ruined the experience was being in a theatre with hundreds of kids whose parents obviously brought them there to be hopefully distracted (which they were not - they were so noisy, but hey, kids) while they Facebooked... I swear, the glow from all the screens below me...

Been noticing my LG g3 is a bit sluggish recently and fancied a tinker with it a bit more. Pros and cons rooting phone and having a muckabout? Should I even bother getting into custom roms and the like?
