maybe with classical effects techniques (like decent shot mechanics in the layout before shooting perhaps, guys, and not just using a filter because it's fashionable and making the place seem real by it being real), they can pull this off. Perhaps nouveau star wars will lead the way ( in the sense that clunkmeister abrams perhaps took heed of how the first star wars happened ala through collaboration with artistic specialists).

"Ford recently said the second installment’s script was the “best thing he’s ever read"

ford's statement includes th original blade runner script? villeneuve? idk... i question this projects ability to retain th appropriate continuity needed to attach itself properly to th original flim.

Nevermind, Ridley scott didn't write the sequel?

How good is this Denis character? I haven't seen anything by him. According to wiki he's won awards.

Well, that shouldn't be hard since they could just say it was a byproduct of being his model of replicant. If it takes place a few years after, then his model ages rapidly, if it takes place 30 years after, his model ages normally. Etc. I have the suspicion that the next movie won't focus on him though, since he originally said he wasn't sure if he was going to be in the movie after reading the script.

Prisoners is surprisingly good when you think about the premise. What it does, it does very well. The ending falls a tiny bit flat, though.

Enemy was weird. There was something about it though that was extremely intriguing, but unfortunately it didn't leave me wanting more, so I haven't watched it again.

Anyway, if this is true then I'm pretty excited about what Blade Runner 2 will end up being.

i think a key piece of information to signify how good this will be is who is the cinematographer.

one of the key elements to the original was the amazing cinematic shots, without that the film will disappoint

Emmanuel Lubezki would be a solid choice imo

He used Roger Deakins for Prisoners and he's fucking solid.

doesn't really matter how good is the director but how good is the team. remember how good was the team of the first movie? ridley was just about one fifth of it, realistically, if not less.

ah yes, this would be great. no point chucking names about though really. let's just see who they actually get on board.

@ squee of course, Roger Deakins is a legend, I don't think he does sci-fi though.

Funny how everyone is going on about who should direct it, etc. - nobody's talked about who should do the soundtrack - for me, Blade Runner's soundtrack was just as essential to that movie's success as anything else.

<insert popular EDm artist here> should do the soundtrack. This film is gonna be naff anyway, so they may as well get some mediocre crap to be the soundtrack.
