We’re picking up good vibrations! Moz and and I compiled a playlist of artists mentioned by Boards of Canada in their interviews. Sorted by era. Many times these are artists they have been influenced by or really like. The song selection is based on three things: The song is chosen in correspondence to the interview era. Example: they first mentioned Autechre in the MHTRTC interviews era so we chose an Autechre song not older than 1998. We took into account the context of the interview quote about the mentioned artists. Example: sometimes they specifically mentioned the guitar play of an artist so we made sure to include a guitar…

Seeing as he was just hanging out with Autechre, maybe they told him something.

maybe posting BoC-ish tunes will help quell the sting of 10 years without a new album for y'all: there's tons of awesome music out there and some definitely falls into Boards-vibes, so here's a start:

Honestly, what the hell? I’ve been a BoC super fan for literally decades now and I’m still unpacking gems. This one hit so hard this week. I love Boards of Canada so much.

In the other thread for "Sick Times". a guest says he/she hears a vocal sample at the time 1:46 saying "Thank you, kindly". Yeah i hear thank you being said but not the word.... Kindly! The other day i listened to this song and heard a female voice saying. at 2:59 saying stuff and can't make it out but wait..... At 3:10 she says "Hey, i'm gonna stay, so that. And i can't make out the rest. But listen she says i'm gonna stay. Why? because she can help? But she says... SO THAT? So that. To fight? or is it because shes telling someoone that shes gonna stay. Now go? and find out why everyone is sick from the pandemic? Folks on twoism said …

Hi there, I've been searching for the sample of the choir signing in this track for so long now. I've always wanted to learn the lyrics and to this day, I've never been able to find anything about it. The only clue I have is that it may sound like Hildegard von Bigen but once again, I'm not sure!

Hi there, I am looking for a remix of this track that was made in 2005. The remix starts off pretty straight forward but then this slow beat comes in - starting to really take the track to a new place. It came out around the same time as TCFH. I'm pretty sure it was made by someone who was on WATMM back at that time. There was a user on here call 'Skytree'. My memory keeps telling me he/she had something to do with it. Does anyone remember the track?

This album just came out a few weeks ago and it is one of the best things I’ve heard in ages. It’s definitely an ode to 90s era Warp and is HEAVILY influenced by boc. Check it.

Two musical masterminds Tony Allen (Fela Kuti's drummer and heavyweight in his own right) and Jeff Mills (of Underground Resistance and his own career, known in his radio days as The Wizard) collaborated on one incredible afrofuturist jam to end all jams. Doesn't sound like BoC's album but it kicks some serious ass.

File this under Minor Speculation i've been looking into vintage Orban gear (made for radio broadcasting) and i feel it's quite possible The Brothers took some graphic inspiration from this gear. maybe they even use it? the signature blue and whatever that font is are very BOC imo. just a thought.

I mean I always knew, but there are times I’ll listen to it and I get sent to a whole different place. It’s truly one of a kind.

https://www.stereogum.com/2175272/boards-of-canada-geogaddi-turns-20/reviews/the-anniversary/ I love you Geogaddi, you beautiful sonofa.... Life changing album and that's not hyperbole. It literally changed me. Telephasic Workshop was the track that piqued my interest, but Geogaddi was the album that ultimately sucked me in. Hearing "You Could Feel The Sky" while driving through the Minnesota northwoods was a trancendant moment.

25 years ago, arguably one of the best albums in music history was released. I for one would not be the celestial being I am today without it. Happy BOCday, everyone. https://www.stereogum.com/2226024/boards-of-canada-tomorrows-harvest-turns-10/reviews/the-anniversary/ There’s no news of a new album, and given that they only have four full-length albums that share a lot of common thematic and stylistic ground, it’s hard to picture what one would even look like, let alone sound like. Would it be dark and unfriendly or pastoral and calm? Would it reward the algorithm or clash jarringly against it? Would the cover be the usual blue or would they settle on a different shade? Would they try some new tricks like vocals or would they stay strictly in their instrumental wheelhouse? The only answer is silence, punctuated by the sound of an…

We may soon have AI that can generate Boards of Canada tracks so plentifully that we no longer need to wait for more output. I mean seriously that fake Drake/Weekend track is terrifying. But if Tomorrow’s Harvest really does turn out to be the last “real” Boards of Canada record, I’d say the mood of TH is pitch perfect.
