not the best series... actually, it's kinda silly mainly because you can tell the budget was very small. but it's fun. i'd rather watch this than all the new movies

also, the actors are doing a little too much acting

Has anyone sat thru Timeless or Emerald City?  I have free pilots, but not time to watch em yet.  My expectations for network fantasy drama are pretty low.

Harley & The Davidsons has been sitting unwatched on the Apple TV for a while as well.

Very late to the party but semi-binge watching House of Cards. It's good but not as good as my friends made it seem to be. I expected even more corruption and wtf-moments. Oh well, it's still more than okay.

^ I'm gonna trust y'all and keep it up then, I'm like three or four episodes into season 1 and it's not working for me yet, despite a few funny moments/cute ladies.

I skipped to the season 2 finale when Rob Lowe shows up and never looked back
I've got Rob Lowe to look forward to? Nice. Been working through season one and it's improving, finding its footing. Still not great yet, but getting better. Decent background viewing.

Finally caught up on Bates Motel (S4). Last two episodes were really disturbing.

It's really something that Norma's death still shocked me, even obviously knowing it was coming since the beginning of the series. Maybe it's because Vera Farmiga brought such life to the character, even though I hated her at times. They also gave her such a fleeting bit of happiness with her romance with Sheriff Romero. Really felt the death more than I thought I would. And it coming a whole season before the end of the series was surprising. Also, the manner in which it happened. Expected something violent, but instead it was a one-sided suicide pact by carbon monoxide.

And Norman, you bastard. Hope the sheriff brings some sort of karma upon him. Freddie Highmore does a great job though. Curious to see the final season presumably being mostly on his shoulders.

As many have said in this thread, there ALOT of shows out there. But as with anything, there is a lot of crap too. I find that with plenty of shows, I get through maybe two episodes and make a judgement call there and then. In truth, most shows are shite, IMO.

I'm currently sitting through Fortitude but it's too early to say.

It's kind of like Twin Peaks meets The Thing.

this was hilarious. the english comedian jamali maddix goes to visit an NSM leader (national socialist movement) who he actually likes- until he pulls out the family pictures of his kids doing heil hitler signs and his wife tells him there should be another genocide of jews and blacks.

he then travels to meet another neo nazi who then invites him to a swastika burning. unfortunately when they get there he's not invited. "why can't i come?" he asks.

"you know why" the nazi replies.

"actually can you remind me?"

when the owner of the property appears he's surprised to see jamali isn't invited. "why aren't you at the swastika burning?" the owner asks.

"they said i can't come"

"well, i own the land and i say you can go"

turns out, the swastika burning was happening at a KKK bar that actually welcomes all to engage in hatred.

married viewing:

  • not very good at watching long form shows lately. mostly playing videogames or busy. our dinner tv has been seinfeld for a while now. mid season 7 now. while it's had a few misses it's been preeeeetty consistent. the episode w/marisa tomei was last nite's dinner viewing. some good laughs in that w/george and elaine's lying.
  • since i realized we have hbo i've finally gotten several episodes into got. i had tried it once before and was just slapping my forehead through the first couple of episodes because of how basic they were. seems like it could be okay.
  • would like to finish girls (only seen first two seasons on borrowed dvd set yrs ago).

solo viewing:

  • wish there was a way for me to watch the newer seasons of man seeking woman but they don't appear to be making it to hulu (where i watched the first season).
  • also looking forward to silicon valley when it comes back.
  • want to finish the wire (only ever watched the first season from somebody's borrowed dvd set [same couple who loaned us girls]).
  • occasionally watch that dog show w/elijah wood i can't remember the name of as background noise when i'm working out (it's not that good or bad)
