yeh maybe it's not worth an 8 (hence the ish, like a high 7), i enjoyed the moral idea of it; realistic in the way we'd possibly abuse clones similarly if they'd die within a certain time (even if they wouldn't) - for our own greed.. and yes, kinski, the way it's not in your face graphics and audio makes it appealing to me as well. but i will agree it missed the ball on some areas.

peopel are giving moon way to much credit just because it looks good. it's an interesting concept but is shown in a rather shallow way and the characters never really develop. it feels like shooting 1/3of it ate the budget of a whole movie so they just kinda made it slow and turned into a whole feature. kinda just out of nowhere gets to the point and goes 'tah dah' instead of exploring it, setting it up a bit more thoughtfully, making me care about sam rockwell a bit. and it's not even that revolutionary of a point. i don't buy it.

yes, i agree!

as a sci-fi it has some flaws, but damn that's one sad movie! first time i watched it i jut got disappointed because it didn't really develop enough, and it's frustrating cause it's good idea for a movie... on second viewing i found it to be really sad. :(

also, the end is so cliche, i mean, the end end, earth scenes etc...

but damn me if it isn't one of the best space movies of the last ten years or more...

excellent documentary about the moral panic brought about by a slew of films with the ability to corrupt the general public. if you lived in the u.k in the 80s, this will bring back fond memories

are there even space movies being made at all? all i can think of in last 5 years is this and christams on mars by wayne coyne. and i think it tries a bit too hard to be sad. and the music doesn't help. it's an enviroment more suitable for something like mutilation colony by squarepusher, the computerized ambience pieces, rather than pathos of clint mansell who always goes for the most cheap emotions.

Ted - Yeah it was allright, scattered lols and a fat kid got punched in the face. Actors trying to act all dramatic in front of that teddy bear was cringeworthy. Mila Kunis pretty hot. 6.5/10

the whole nine yards - silly comedy. in a good way.

office space - up until the third act this movie is great. i loved the juxtaposition of lame office life and gangsta rap. it was very suble and funny. the tension builds up great and all, bu then they just went with the least interesting conclusion. still funny, though.

I went to a horror movie festival this weekend. So, let's see..

[REC 3] Genesis - I guess this was pretty OK. Entertaining at least. The last part was a bit silly. 6/10.

The Phantom of the Paradise - Umm, pretty weird movie. A sort of remake of the Phantom of the Opera. Campy as hell. But mostly fun. 6/10

Seeding of a Ghost - 80s Hong Kong horror. Oh man. This started as a soft porny film noir type of thing and changed into a splatter gorefest at some point and then went completely overboard with the whole thing. Fun as hell. 9/10.

Sleep Tight - Rather nice movie. More psychological than the rest. 7/10.

The Phantom of the Opera - This was the 1925 silent film with live orchestra playing the soundtrack. It was pretty good but I was a bit bored at some points. 6/10

The Werewolf vs The Vampirewoman - Haha. Maximum camp. Everything was so bad starting from the script to the acting and cheap special effects. Loved it. 9/10 or 1/10.

The Howling - 80s werewolf flick. Was fun. 7/10

Excision - A disturbing movie about an angsty teenager. Lots of black comedy and gory at parts. Liked it. 8/10.

Couple of other movies I saw this week

Inglourious Basterds - Liked this. Was very entertaining. 8/10.

Kick-Ass - I don't really understand why this gets so high scores? It started interestingly but then turned into pretty regular superhero action thing which I've seen enough for one lifetime. 5/10.

Kill List 9/10. Excellent, memorable and pretty disturbing low budget Horror film. Best recent Horror film I`ve seen since Martyrs. Brilliant atmospheric score as well.

What the fuck is wrong with you people?

Oh man, the scene where you see the streets for the first time is fantastic.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there are robots walking around the street, right? Or am I thinking of some other movie?

I'm curious about this one.

I watched the trailer today becaus it is playing near me soon and I wasn't too blown away by the preview.

I think it looks like there is more going on than can be reflected by one trailer.

Did you see it?
