I always thought that this A/V mix thing would be the WATMM-related project Joyrex teased long ago :'(

Nope - that was something else entirely that fizzled out because Richard simply doesn't have the time.

That countdown is ??? because it's counting backwards for like 11+ years ???

maybe joyrex is actually involved after all

You fucking savage

Good code sleuthing!

https://github.com/ntslive/aphexer/blob/master/app/lib/afx/aphexFaceReplacer.js

Browsing through their GitHub page, it looks like they're going to have some sort of face replacer software running. You can upload a photo of your face to the 1st link and it returns the photo back with your face replaced with Richards:

new AphexFace("./faces/drukqs.png", 1.5, -0.08),   // new AphexFace("./faces/face.png", 2, 0.05),   new AphexFace("./faces/icbyd.png", 1.35, 0.01),   new AphexFace("./faces/rdj.png", 1.28, -0.08),   new AphexFace("./faces/syro.png", 1.8, 0),   new AphexFace("./faces/windowlicker.png", 1.45, -0.08),

Probably like the stuff we saw at Day For Night...

The countdown points to JULY 3rd, not JUNE...

so not field-day related

or maybe just a typo

Looks like there are two dates in client.js:

1499119200000 = Mon, 03 Jul 2017 22:00:00 GMT

1496520000000 = Sat, 03 Jun 2017 20:00:00 GMT

There are two countdown calculations, one for "this.c" and one for "that.c". Simplified a little:

this.c = milliseconds to 3rd July 22:00 this is the countdown shown on the page.

that.c = last this.c - 100 * (time to 3 Jul 2017 22:00:00 / time to 3 Jun 2017 20:00:00) - no idea what this is for, maybe the countdown changes after 3rd June?

I believe that will set the countdown to how many days from June 3rd to July 3rd...

I wonder how close Mars is to Earth on July 3rd...

Mars is on the wrong side of the solar system at the moment (the other side of the Sun), it won't be really close to Earth (the perihelic apparition) until July 27th, 2018.

Joyrex you really need to stop with your inaccurate teasers, you're probably causing irreparable psychological damage to all the afx fanboys.

I think all ya'll have been conditioned to believe that even the slightest suggestion of a teaser equals ~BRAND~NEW~ALBUM~

Edit: i'll be more than happy to eat my hat of course

I don't think most of us are truly expecting a new album (I'm certainly not), we're just hopeful.

July 3rd appears to be Julian Assange's birthday. It is clear. We will be provided with a huge international level of importance leak coming from non other than the man himself indubitably in cooperation with Mr. Assange. Could it be a sex tape? who knows. Details remain to be seen.
