websites with grills 1 2

why would anyone think it's a good idea to add a hovering javashit menu bar at the top of text-centric websites, which obscures like 1/4 of the vertical screen space.....? example: http://tech.eu/brief/soundcloud-debt-funding/ and countless others. I dunno if this is worthy of a thread, but this trend is getting worse and worse, it's like the new obligatory flash intro. seriously does anyone know? if not, maybe post grills or dunno. I mean, finally we are kind of past Flash, Flash is done for good, but you can count on ingenious web designers / genius clients to find ways to mess up websites.

Their heart was in the right place but they pushed too hard and now they have given bigots and true idiots the right tools to promote their sick agenda I just hope that now when they look at their fans behavior online they reject them and their hateful ideas as loudly as they went against PC culture.

Can anyone here perhaps recommend a wired keyboard that has a similar layout and feel as that of a macbook? I want to buy one for the lappy I use for music making so I can finally close the lid and hopefully reduce the load that's on the video chip a bit... Don't feel like spending +/- 60 euro on an accessory but on the other hand I've really gotten used to the feel of the, eh, non raised laptop keys so I'm looking for a decent ripoff.

Mom makes 6 year old son take her on dates to teach him "how to treat a lady" http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/6-year-old-date-nights-nikkole-paulun_568ca58ee4b0c8beacf4dcd1 Yes, have to teach boys early that it's their job to provide money for women and pull out chairs for them, as if women aren't perfectly capable of doing that themselves. /s Anyone else disgusted? It's pretty sexually twisted, I'd almost consider her a sexual abuser. She's probably going to make him have weird mommy issues in the future because of this. I mean what the fuck

Can anyone recommend me movies in the vein of Drive (2011), Maniac (2012), that sort of stuff? I love this kind of dark, rainy, inner city setting. I even started playing Max Payne 2 again because of this. If I'm not mistaken, a lot of this stuff stems from the 50s, but I'm not sure if I'll enjoy, so I'm guessing 70s and up would be best. Thanks a lot! PS. You can recommend games too if you like, Gemini Rue is a great noir adventure / puzzle game

Anyone have any experience with that kind o' thing? We have wall-lining bookshelves in our front room and after sorting through them I have a couple of hundred books in a crate that I wouldn't miss. Full range from fairly new textbooks to trashy romance novels, immaculate to reasonable conditions Thought I'd try my hand at selling them online individually instead of just dumping the lot at a second-hand shop. Suspect we'd get more cash in the long run this way. I'd rather knaw off my nads than use paypal, so ebay's off-limits. I considered setting up an Amazon marketplace seller account but am a bit worried it'd be too one-sided, they'd have the power to screw me …

Read this very well done article today: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2015/12/29/arts/design/sound-architecture.html There must be some design/architect people on here - how do you incorporate sound into your work? Do you? Since we moved into an open office design (blech) I'm much more cognizant of how loud my typing is lol. in before nulls

I was just made aware of this via the internet. Can anyone explain this in a way that makes sense? I tried looking online but all I saw was overweight people saying they're happy being overweight and that others are stupid and putting them down or articles about overweight people being comfortable being overweight and encouraging those in similar situations to be happy. Being someone that has worked quite a bit to overcome deadly slow metabolism by dieting and staying active, I can identify with the struggle, I guess. Is it like, you pointing at some person ordering two meals and laughing while yelling "HE SHOULDN'T DO THAT" while pointing it out to your friends... …

I know in my life I've had real friends; steadfast iron statues of men that I could always, even years later, come back to, always finding that we had both changed; yet simultaneously, making us equals in absence. This is true friendship. Tell me, what have you all (pluraL) known of friendship?

Yeah it's new RF thread, deal with it. John has been killing it SO completely and utterly lately that I thought this warranted discussion, it takes a British comedian to shine a mirror on America and show us just how dumb we really are. His televangelist thread has already had such a profound effect, that the IRS is considering new investigations into televangelist fund raising. This man has been on the job for a matter of months, but has already eclipsed, IMO, John Stewart's 17 year tenure as host of The Daily Show. I'm glad HBO is backing his bits, as who knows who he will target next, I hope Scientology gets some. [youtubehd]5d667Bb_iYA[/youtubehd]

Has anyone seen this? It's an anti-cannabis campaign by some Australian ministerial department, that's currently being panned for its absurd depictions of the effects of cannabis. The people who commissioned it claimed it was “informed by research conducted by the National Cannabis Prevention and Information Centre.” but they came back saying “NCPIC was not consulted on any of the creative elements of this campaign. They have used our name to cover this campaign … We are going to ask them to print a retraction that it is based on work that we did.” Either way it's worth watching for the unintentional laughs. http://www.stonersloth.com.au
