I love how there is actual official proof that a new album is on the way and this forum has not gone up in flames.

 

(I;m still skeptical , who runs that Facebook page?)

 

there has been 'official proof' of a new album being on the way since 2009.

 

I heard Boards of Canada run the facebook page, but I'm thinking it's somehow not true.

 

I believe that MDG runs it.

but if you want an answer you can actually take as definitive statement about the new album, shouldn't you be asking more specifically about the album? like "yo mdg, rumors of a new BOC album are rife. any truth in these rumors?

you know, just to be sure that when mdg says "yes" (like he already has) you know it's in reference to the new album and not to the fact that rumors of one are "rife", and like, that's it.... :facepalm:

I'm so sick of this shit I'm just gonna post rumors to get the thread closed.

 

The version of 'XYZ' broadcast at the Peel Session was, in fact, an early demo. After it was broadcast, they started working on it more, until a final version was produced. When it was time to release the session on Warp, finished versions of the tracks (e.g. Happy Cycling) were chosen in place of the broadcast versions, to improve the quality of the release. However, BoC did not want the finished version of XYZ to be included. It has not been confirmed exactly why, but it is known that at that point in the production, the track became very personal to them.

 

It is possible that the finished version of XYZ appears on the hand-made copies of the Peel Session release mentioned by DJ Food some time ago.
