Got Greek food tonight, had a delicious moussaka and it went excellent with my young Orval.

This Orval is pretty much perfect, the funk is still subtle and the hops are still shining.  Now to finish it off with some baklava.

Tried Franziskaner (5% vol.) the other day, very bitter and almost tastes like fish but not disgusting either.

This is my go-to for hefeweizens. I always get excited when I see a store carry it.

My best friend (who, staying on forum form, saw Autechre with me in Atlanta back in 2001 at the Roxy) gave me a bottle of Prairie's Christmas Bomb, appropriately enough, a few days before Christmas this year. Comes off like a bit of cross of two of my favorite ales, Untitled Artwork's Chocolate Macaroon Stout and Wicked Weed's (sadly retired) Xibalba. Cacao nibs, a kiss of chiles, and 12% alcohol. Very cozy and great for a cold afternoon.

Been getting a lot of beer mail lately, spent a good 120 bucks the past week.  This is is from The Veil Brewing-

"IdonteverwanttoBU³ is the triple dry-hopped version of our 0 IBU DIPA. Hopped with a ton of Citra and Mosaic. Juicy flavors of ripe mango, mixed berries, and honey."

Damn good, was so dank and tropical.  Was like an orange smoothie.

Had made an Instagram for my music but now it just turned into posting about beers, haha.

I can't even remember the last time I posted in this thread, but Ireland has upped its craft beer game by so many levels since then its unreal.

I used to buy an American beer every time I went to the offo 3 years ago and now I can't even keep up with the beers being release here.

Deez few are good

I got suckered into buying a limited edition 4-pack of these because of their partnership with EC Comics and was surprised that the beer was extremely good!

Are milkshake beers becoming a thing? I had one last night that straight up tasted like a milkshake.

Had a nice beer from a brewery in my city recently and it was refreshing to see when I poured it out there was a decent amount of yeast in suspension that really added some earthiness to the floral and dank hops and sweet crystal malts . I think many ambers and red ales are compromised due to excess filtering

I think filtering is actually becoming less and less popular. You can see brands like carlsburg releasing their unfiltered larger etc.

I agree ale don't really need to be filtered all that much, just enough so you're not pickin' bits out of your teeth. But people do like the look of a clear larger, plus leaving un-filtered because it has a better taste is a bit redundant to me as most largers don't have a particularly strong taste anyway.

Wow. Looks super cool. Even the craft ale cult cynic within agrees with that.

Off the supermarket this afternoon to get some booze. Not sure what to get. I’ve been sipping on Budvar pilsner lately which is quite an agreeable beer. I’m bored of the usual supermarket fodder but also not keen on spending minor fortunes for ultra fashionable beer. Hmmm tricky ?

Maybe Hoegaarden will hit the spot...

Procured a couple of these

went to supermarket and was very hum drum in my moody attitude towards beer, so stocked up on tonic water and budvar and then ducked into M&S and got a few of these. It’s just fine. Nothing special but better than fucking Asda.

Had this one sitting in my basement for about a year now.  Kinda strange, the American trappist thing, but it's pretty good.  I'm not a big fan of stouts (hate coffee) but this is a decent, mild stout.

It's going really well with my dinner, a pizza (from a local pizzeria) with gorgonzola, mozz, pear, arugula, and candied pecans.

Never seen these before. Argentinian beer. My local wine cellar sometimes does odd beers from round the world as they supply local restaurants. They are straight from the fridge and I’m drinking them (I have 2) down by the river Thames. Cheers ? ?

Seems I’m on a bit of a beer mission today as I have a few days off.

Procured this from Waitrose, it’s absolutely delightful. It’s on special offer as well. I’ll be back tomorrow to put much more in my knapsack.
