ep13's opening scene with that ketamine-d&b, then the boss death & the accountant type asking Bad Coop if he wanted any money, Dougie walking into the glass door and then Ed stewing over his soup...........tough crowds these days if aspects this good get overlooked by the general public but its not a perfect world

ep18 will hit just as autumn finds its feet here, come-down timing is impeccable

Ohh I didnt know the finale was 2 hours, that's excellent. Calling it right now that it'll be the most unbelievable 2 hours of television I'll ever see.

I don't ever want this show to end. When the announcer introduced James I punched the air.

The whole series had renewed my faith in television. Perfection.

And when it's over, I will hate television again.

Catch up on Fargo. Was kinda meh about the third season for several episodes, but man... it rallied bigtime.

Preacher is fairly polarizing...but I dig that one for a popcorn viewing. Darkly funny at times. When you can make a suicide montage humorous, I'll roll with it.

That would be the worst therapy/therapist ever!

twin peaks the return: part 1 is now free on youtube

Nice! I haven't looked for the latest incarnation on interwebs yet & don't have Showtime. Pretty jacked after watching the first one. That sound design though! Wind through the trees then cuts to NY with the noise of traffic. Tranquil forest to urban jungle. Love it. Mystery box, Log Lady, Hawk, Jerry, Giant, Coop, evil Coop, etc... Feels are strong.

Oh nice, good rec. Yeah I loved the first season. Started 2nd season but didn't finish it before I had to drop cable. I knew there was some other series that I was forgetting, this will be a good one to follow up when TP finished.

Both the film Fargo and first season of the show have a similar vibe as Twin Peaks in terms of how they portray good versus evil, sans the supernatural/paranormal stuff. Well at least with the cops and civilians. You could totally throw Andy or Hawk into Fargo and Molly and Gus into Twin Peaks.

Actually, The third season gets pretty meta. Cosmic justice, The force of good portrayed as a person, as well as the force of evil. Could also replace good v evil with capitalism v socialism to some degree I suppose. I'm not very learned, so it's hard for me to verbalize. But the theme goes pretty deep imo. As I said though, the first few episodes were pretty meh, but when the ball gets rolling it might be some of my favorite shit from the anthology. Noah touches on it throughout Fargo, but it coalesces into lovely stuff.

she's been in a coma since the season 2 bank blast i'll bet. notice how there was no modern technology in her scenes. rotary phone, etc...

I've had to save that conga line casino music from the opener. I could have sworn that it was something Richard added to HAB or RDJ album and i just hadn't heard it yet.

its a badalamenti jazzy drum track sped up about 50% with some added synths and piano

I was thinking she could be in some pocket of the black lodge/spirit world but yeah a coma would make a lot of sense. Since no other characters have mentioned her or tried to contact her despite drama in the family. And the fact that both her scenes have her in the same weird home, talking about leaving without being able to commit to leaving, seems like dream logic.

I was taking a break from this show for the past few weeks because I was getting frustrated with it. Tonight, we tried catching up on the few that we missed and I think I'm finally done with this show.

I'm sorry. It's a bad show.

Nothing adds up. None of these characters make sense. There's no story to speak of. The acting/direction/editing is bad. It's blatantly sexist. The special effects are cheesy as fuuuk. The dialogue in every scene sounds like it was written by a twelve year old.

The original series was great. This one isn't. I'm tired of feeling like I need to keep tuning in with the hopes that something cool might actually happen with the story or that we will get the old Cooper back. I'm just done.

David Lynch can go eat a bag of dicks.

must admit i kinda agree... big fan of seasons 1 & 2 but not so much with this one. i'll watch to the end but only because i need to finish what i started. all jefferoo's points rankle with me though too.

twin peaks used to (maybe weirdly) feel warm and comforting to me. this season feels cold and sterile and i don't really care about any of it.

I'm getting so much from The Return, it's an absolute delight.

Last nights ep' had me running through a gamut of emotions and I'm still filled with a sense of wonder today.

I understand that nothing pleases everybody but I can't help but feeling that you're missing out on some treasure.
