In celebration of an epic show by the T man at the end of the month, I'd like to take a selection of his live shows - maybe two a week starting on Thursday 1st of []<tober - and review the shit out of them, hear stories and generally appreciate an oftentimes headwrecking, but gifted artist

I'm not sure I understand what is meant by doing tracks live in one take, particularly Damogen Furies, which sounds like the notes have been programmed in advance, then perhaps tweaked live afterwards? Can anyone shed any light on this? How can these tracks be a purely 'live' take? quote from consequence of sound interview: “All of the recordings here were made in one take, with no edits. It is a record that has the brutal energy and vivaciousness of a debut.”

You might expect Tom Jenkinson to have been inspired by jazz-fusion maestros, and he was. But Senseless Things? Here’s his list of the giants of bass who helped get him started http://www.theguardian.com/music/musicblog/2015/oct/02/squarepusher-10-songs-that-taught-me-how-to-play-bass

What with Tom playing around with the tracks live, I saw him at Dekmantel and it was incredible, I pray for at least an EP of new versions of tracks. The later stuff in particular changed a lot from the album version.

Yesterday grant posted a comment on facebook when somebody posted this track. [youtubehd]4jmXONoBhCo[/youtubehd] I went back to the post but seems like he deleted it, it said something like this: "petition for squarepusher to release his "secret millsy 2006ish atmospheres" tracks. Only ever heard them once but... (can't remeber what came next)" Anybody seen this post or have clue what tracks he could be talking about.

Steinvord Speculation

I speculate that Steinvord is a project of Squarepusher and possibly a collabouration. Noticed there is a thread in the Aphex subforum but since Aphex denied it and Square pusher did not deny it, I thought it would be a good Idea to brainstorm with Squarepusher fans in order to shed more light on the topic. This couldn't be more Squarepusher like imho:

Has he ever commented on his drug use before? I've never seen him with a big fatty in his mouth like Vibert always does.

Been listening to these a lot recently...soooo good! From VLR From me ;) Covers everything up to JAS - I think that there's room for a 3rd hour of amazing tracks not already covered. Anyone up for doing it?! Chaos AD tracks, Journey to Reedham, more Go Plastic, Ufabulum, Damogen Furies, Shobaleader, Unreleased...

Has it ever publically been said how much Tom gets for shows or live sessions? When you take into account that his fanbase is small and niche, that his recent tours look costly to run and all the general ways in which musicians miss out on money...how much could he be earning? I'm curious since I found out that Autechre have jobs, as they seem to have a bigger fanbase than Tom and still need to work.

I've got the UK pressing and an advance promo pressing, the UK pressing has all tracks cut just slightly late, the promo has Boneville and Go Spaz cut right, but the others are even worse off, which pressing has the tracks indexed properly?

I think he was. He should do more of it. I know he can play instruments and shit, but he is best at massive bombaclot riddim bizness. Also, just curious, does he ever do DJ sets? Ever drop a mixtape? Probly not, right?

In an interview that im reading right now about the new album (http://thequietus.com/articles/17497-squarepusher-interview) tom talks about a self made software system. I don't know how much of it is self made, or in what sense. In the past he used a hardware sequencer, now he made a setup to play it live, tweaking the sequencer live. Im intrigued, something to do with Ableton Live!? some reaktor mega ensemble? what do you think? hi tom, are you here?

This might be a good spot to post the interviews Tom has done (I assume) for the new album. The first one that I've seen was for a Dutch magazine 3voor12, so I translated it (bit hasty) for all you non-Dutchies. I've attached it to this post in .doc here or have a pastebin. Squarepusher.doc

(Addressed to the editor of "Urb" magazine in the US. This article was never printed.) I hope you don't mind being the subject of an experiment. Instead of answering this questionnaire in the conventional manner, Tom decided to let his computer have a go at answering it as a test for a new piece of software he is working on called "virtual comedian". It simply uses the material that is fed into it, and spews it back out as best it can in the form of a colourful assortment of questions, assertions, non-sequiturs and downright nonsense. Yet all of it has an uncanny ring of Tom's sense of humour and talent for an abstract jape.... Its good fun, I hope you guys agree.…
