It can be anything. Food, beverage, hobby, travel...you name it. Personally I've been pondering game development for a long time now, but have no experience. So I'm considering learning Unity in the near future.

Astro Tarot is banned. One half of WATMM will think, "who is that?". The other half will think "Thank fuck." because for over a month, Astro Tarot has been sending random people very random and strange PMs. They were very woowoo, and he would not stop, even after temp bans. It wasn't smart of him to start bothering mods I reckon. I would hear "Who the fuck is Astro Tarot" everywhere, and I wonder, just wonder, what he send to everyone. As far as I know, every person got a unique PM, straight from his brain. This is an example of what he send to me: I have much more. I went into 'conversation' with him. I might post them if people show inter…

What are your views on what is clearly something that's only going to increase? People livestreaming themselves committing atrocities. Did anyone see the footage? I was sent it before anything had appeared in the news, bar some '6 dead' breaking news story (death count is up to 49 now). From The Guardian Most recent example in my memory is the guy who livestreamed himself on FB shooting that female reporter.

Often when I'm checking out music from past eras, I often come across bits that remind me a lot of specific parts from newer tracks. Sometimes the similarity is close enough that I believe the older track likely influenced the newer one, especially it's from an artist the newer one would be into. This happens often enough that I thought it would be worth making a thread to document it. Should be a fun exercise. Here's an example I just stumbled upon to start things off: The riff from Nirvana - Come as You Are I think was likely influenced by Killing Joke - Eighties. It's almost the exact same progression (tuned one half step up) and even uses a similar chorus eff…

Prospect is an indie sci-fi movie that is now streaming - the creators have made a neat VHS-style trailer and I must say they nailed the aesthetic quite well! Here's the official trailer sans 80's VHS effects:

I am teaching a high school course on British literature and culture. It is my third year at this school and I have virtually no oversight in terms of curriculum choices at this point, so I was like 'fuck it, gonna teach my favorite 'British' music.' Wanted to ask for any suggestions, especially if anyone knows of a good overview of Aphex Twin. I think for interviews, I'm going to take snippets from the syrobonkus interview and the one he did with that Korg designer. This is the last few weeks of the class. Any thoughts on readings or song selections . . . ? 5/7 (T) Samuel Beckett Krapp’s Last Tape …

I think this video represents the void we all try to fill and the uncertainty of fulfillment in our society and how we're all waiting for something that may or may not come along, ..." WATMM, what are you waiting for? Do you think Huell will ever get what he's waiting for?...

seems to be getting mostly good/great reviews, with the main complaints being the length, and the unpredictable alien AI (which is a main selling point) being maybe a little TOO unpredictable. supposedly you will die lots due to deaths which will seem as if they came down to pure chance, even if you did all the best things you could do in that situation (like hiding etc). also the game handles saving with save points, which are sometimes far apart, making those deaths pretty painful if you've spent 10-15 minutes slowly crawling between enemies stealthily, hiding and waiting, etc, then die with seemingly no recourse. so there are a few really low ratings some reviewers gav…

I've got some studying to knock out along w/ house chores etc., but I should have that most rare of all things: about 1 hour tonight where my wife is out teaching and I'm totally left to my own devices. Yes I'm old AF. What should I do WATMM? Options include but are not limited to: Work on music Fap Play video games on the Big TV. Sub options include game: RDR2, COD, Crackdown, etc. Watch S3 E8 of Twin Peaks (GOTTA LIGHT!!?!!!!!) Exercise Browse WATMM aimlessly wishing I could come up with something clever to say, writing a bunch of posts only to delete them halfway through, crying deeply when I realize I've spent 43 minutes doing absolutely nothing of substance

How much time do you spend not-computing/not on the internet like I spend almost all my waking time. But I don't compute when I commute. When I commute I'm watching u computing. Or when I shower. Or what the fuck. Cook? Like what else can you do? Play synths, yes. Watch some stupid ass comedy shows, yes. Read a book lol. It's almost like computing so it doesn't count. Listen to music, u compute. Sex up some women, maybe. But the women have the computer sickness too. It's like my thinking in my head if I really try to think about some serious stuff it always ends into like "google this" or "search that up on google". So that I wouldn't have to do the thinking par…
